Kitchen Remodel Timeline
What to expect when going through a kitchen remodel.
- Timing depends on who you choose to complete demolition. Hiring a professional often ensures your old kitchen is gone in just one day! (these jobs can vary depending on the size of the project)
- This is the time to open walls for electrical and plumbing work. Fixing your walls and completing your flooring are the next steps.
- After patching your sheetrock or plaster, paint your walls. Minor touchups will need to be completed later. Most flooring can be installed this point (floating floor should be installed after cabinets.)
- Installation depends on the scope of work, number of cabinets, and existing wall materials in your home
- The time frame from countertop template to install depends on vendor chosen and the time of year. IKEA solid wood and laminate countertops are able to be installed during cabinet installation. Custom countertops are installed through a third party.
- After the countertops are installed, complete the backsplash, final plumbing, and electrical. Appliance hook up depends on the safety and suitability of the connections.
- This is when you complete paint touch-ups, remove remaining debris, and deep clean your kitchen
