Kitchen islandJudyWonderful addition to our rental apartment. Room for 2 stools on the one side and ample storage shelves on the other side. The only thing I didn’t take into account was that the wood surface is recommended not to use as a cutting surface, so I needed to buy an extra cutting board for that purpose to use on the work area.

Nice piece of furnitureRogerI actually purchased this for my son as a "condo" warming gift in Denver. He and I assembled it (the extra rack was a bit of a challenge to be honest) - definitely a two person operation.
The wood counter is really nice and we oiled it with some furniture oil to ensure it would be protected from wine and food spills. It's a really nice addition to his condo and serves as his informal dining table!

Glad we got it with the rack as it has added even more space to put items away. Great to hang a fruit basket holder (IKEA's) from. We purchased different stools than what they had. We were glad we got them with seat backs, more comfortable to seat at to eat or for projects.

Solid but pricey- maybe skip the rackJenniferThe island is what I expected and have added two barstools to serve meals, and have sufficient storage on the opposite side. Also ordered the overhead rack, which never really served as storage shelving and only served to block the view in the kitchen. I took that down and am happier without it.

What is particleboard?
Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded.
