Stop waiting and just do it! CatherineI’ve had the Billy shelves for ages, and I keep adding to them. They’ve survived multiple moves and hold toys, books, plants, puzzles, school stuff, so it looks CLUTTERED. I got the $30 dollar shelves and put them on the bottom. GAME CHANGER. My space looks cleaner and more peaceful.
Install was straight forward. I recommend doing the top hinge first, and screwing in the top screw and allow the inside hinge to hang a bit while you do the bottom screw. This allows for a seme of consistency with measuring and then the doors aren’t all slightly ajar from one another.
The hinge on the door is very easy then fits on the shelves hinge and you tighten. Wam, bam, thank you maam.
The door knobs were a bit awaken without a drill but otherwise I installed six doors with only a handheld screw driver. Just buy them. Totally worth it.
Forever BookcaseDOxberg doors are great! I had older Billy Bookcases and wanted doors - It was a simple install. All I had to do was pre-drill the pilot holes and they are on! GREAT PRODUCT!

4 door failureKarenI spoke with an employee about putting full size doors on my 76” high Billy Bookcase. They didn’t have solid white, and all the others had plexi-glass. I didn’t like that. So She told me these would work if I bought 4. (2 upper, 2 lower) They don’t work! Even though the measurements add up, the spacing holes on the Billy will not allow the upper shelves to attach because they overlap by nearly 1/2”. I adjusted all the hardware but it’s only 1/4” difference. You could drill new holes but one shelf will be higher than the frame. It does not work. Had to drive another 3 hours to return these. I’m not happy, but not every employee knows every detail of every product.
The sad part is, the bottom two looked amazing! I wish they made them for the Billy in 4 door. It looks great.

Nice way to finish off the bookshelvesMichelleWe have a large wall of Billy bookcases in our Home office and have used a combination of solid doors and the doors with glass top, solid bottom. They all look fabulous together and have a seamless transition, lining up perfectly. I can see why Billy bookcases are so popular and I am happy we finally put them in our home office.
Great Product NatashaThese doors are great. All the hinges lined up just right and you do not have to install the pull knobs if you do not want to. The predrilled hole only shows on the inside of the cabinets. I am going to paint the knobs (since they are just wood without veneer) and install them in the respective corners that work for my build.

Almost perfectMonicaThese are easy to install on the Billy bookcases - my 10yo and 13yo installed 6 sets of them (12 total) and they only required minor adjustments. They also look beautiful and are perfect for extra living rm / office storage. Overall they have held up well over the last 6 months, but I have noticed some scratches on the top of a couple where my kids regularly pull file boxes off the shelf above - only reason I didn’t give 5 stars!

Doors RubCassieWe put the Billy Bookcase in our bathroom and it fits perfect. We definitely need doos and do like 2 on it. However, the doors are rubbing and are adjusted as far apart as possible. Our only solution now is to go back to Ikea, exchange for new doors, and hope the same thing does not happen. Sounds like this is a quality control issue as others have this problem.
