Poor quality, premature failure within 2 yearsZixiaoVery disappointed. I bought this chair in 2024 Nov and have barely used it. It has always been kept in doors yet the rattan structure has already broken and unable to support human weight. I expected much better durability from IKEA product.

Bought 2 in natural in the same store 1 year ago, so obviously pleased with the product. The old, green ones have been retired to a covered porch. Tomorrow I’m going to IKEA Emeryville, CA, to buy a couple for this side of the Atlantic. Hope they are in stock!

Powder under chairJillI bought two of these 6 months ago for our condo and one of them keeps getting that yellow powder underneath it someone else on here takes about. Today I wiped it up and it was full of tiny black bugs. So I think bugs are what is causing the ones that have powder underneath from the warehouse. Mine have never been outside since bought and used in dining area.

I needed four chairs for a different place and bought them again. I am pleased with the chairs but IKEA no longer makes cushions that fit properly in the seat. I had to go on the internet to get cushions that fit. You should have them.

I love the looks and mine is still perfect, but I had to replace my husband’s, who weighs 230lbs, after a couple of years and his replacement chair just broke again. I wish they were made a bit stronger!
Years of useAnonymous reviewerBought two of these over 10 years ago, have been in living, dining room, kids room, covered porch, etc. Have had babies, toddlers, kids, puppies, dogs and cats sit on them (and squirm out through the hole under the armrest- kids, dogs *and* cats) and they are still going strong. Almost didn’t buy them, bc I was afraid of fragility of a chair made like a basket, but they have outlived many other chairs in this house! Cute design, not too big or small, great!

What is rattan?
Rattan is a strong yet lightweight and flexible material made from the rattan plant’s stem.
