The IKEA Assembly: Kim Bui (@xomyhome)

Kim Bui was previously an IT Product Manager turned full-time Content Creator. She is a homebody that loves to travel.  Kim shares all things from organization tips and tricks, to budget-friendly design ideas and approachable DIYs. Being a family of five living in a 3-bedroom home with her husband, working from home, she has developed a passion for curating beautiful spaces while maximizing functionality. Most of the spaces in her home serve multiple purposes. Kim recently purchased a new home and is currently in the process of designing and renovating it and can’t wait to share all the ups and down of her journey with you.  

How does your home reflect who you are and your identity? 

“Upon entering our home, you’ll immediately see pictures of my family and our recent travels. We love travelling as a family. There is also plenty of storage in our entryway, such as a shoe cabinet, hanging baskets and trays. There are clear identified drop zones for everything. Overall, I am a very organized person and really appreciate minimal clutter both physically and mentally.” – Kim Bui  

If you were an IKEA product, which would you be and why?  

“I would be a multi-functional piece of furniture, such as the KALLAX shelving unit. I love being creative and being able to adapt to various circumstances. The KALLAX can be used as a bookshelf, a room divider or a storage unit. You can be very creative in how you use the KALLAX and style it.” – Kim Bui
