Gift Registry FAQs
The IKEA Gift Registry can help you find the perfect gift for any occasion, with many ways to access the registry on our website: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/gift-registry, the left navigation bar, the link at the bottom of the IKEA website and through Search.
The IKEA app does not currently support the IKEA Gift Registry.
IKEA makes it easy to set up your gift registry through our website:
- Create your gift registry by clicking on the 'Create a gift registry' button
- Choose the gifts you want and add them to your registry
- Under ‘Settings’, click to enable sharing so family and friends can find your registry
Yes, you do need to be an IKEA Family member to create a registry. It’s easy to sign up for IKEA Family, our free loyalty club, and receive benefits that save you money and time. Learn more
Yes, you can create multiple registries under the same IKEA Family account and can view all registries on ‘Your gift registries’ website page.
Yes, by clicking on ‘Settings’ you have the option to add a co-registrant to your gift registry, so they can add items to the registry.
You can browse thousands of products on ikea.com by category, using the search function, or through our inspirational image galleries. While logged in, add any desired gifts to your registry by clicking either the ‘gift’ icon or the ‘Add to gift registry’ button underneath any product on our website. You can always remove or add new products by coming back to your registry at any time.
It’s easy to use your smartphone’s scanning feature to add items to your IKEA Gift Registry while in-store:
- With your smartphone and an active internet connection, first locate your gift registry on ikea-usa.com. You can access the gift registry page through the menu, search function or gift registry links on our website. Remember to log in as an IKEA Family member. Once logged in, click on the gift registry link on the page to pull up your gift registry.
- Once you’ve accessed your gift registry, click the “Add Items In-Store” button on the page, and give permission by clicking “Allow”. You can now use your smartphone in-store to scan items to add to your registry.
- To scan an item, hold your smartphone’s camera over the barcode of the product you wish to add to your gift registry. Your item will automatically be added to your registry, along with relevant information such as product name, price, and description.
- If a barcode is not available (or not scanning properly), you can always enter the item article number manually to add the product to your gift registry.
Once you are logged into your IKEA gift registry, you can click on the ‘Share’ or ‘Settings’ icons on your registry page to locate your unique registry link. Simply copy your registry link and share with your loved ones however you choose. Guests can also search for your registry through the ‘Find a gift registry’ button if they have your name and event year.
Gifts can be purchased from a registry in any IKEA retail store in the United States, other than IKEA Planning studios, Plan and order points, and Pick-up only locations. Gifts can also be purchased online at ikea.com. Subject to product availability.
A gift registry is ‘active’ from the moment it is created until two years after the event date.
Yes, you can delete your gift registry by clicking on ‘Settings’ and selecting ‘Delete your gift registry’.
You will receive an email notification each time an item from your gift registry is purchased online or when someone identifies a gift as ‘Purchased’ after they purchase an item from your registry in-store. You will also be able to tell at any time what has been purchased by logging into your registry to view your registry list.
Items on your registry will be reflected as ‘Gifted’ after they have been purchased online, or if an item is purchased in-store, the purchaser marks it as ‘Purchased’.
Please refer here for more info on stock availability. Stock availability varies in-store and online. While we will use our best efforts to fulfill all orders, IKEA cannot guarantee the availability of any product on any registry.
For any registry duplicates received, you may return pursuant to our standard IKEA product Return Policy. You will need to provide the ‘Order number’ found within your email.
Items not on your registry list are subject to the standard IKEA product Return Policy.
Purchasing from a registry
You can purchase items from the IKEA Gift Registry in a variety of ways:
- Buy In-store
- You can purchase registry items in any IKEA retail store in the United States, other than IKEA Planning studios, Plan and order points, and Pick-up only locations. Once you make your purchase, you will need to go to the gift registry site and mark the item(s) as ‘Purchased’ so that your recipient’s registry is kept up to date.
- Buy Online from IKEA-USA.com
- You can purchase registry items online by going to https://www.ikea.com/us/en/gift-registry, selecting ‘Find a gift registry’ and then choosing a registry item to buy online.
- Buy In-store
Due to the perishable nature of IKEA food and live plants, these products are not available for online purchase or for delivery. However, these products can be purchased and picked up in-store, subject to availability.
First, locate the specific gift registry by clicking on the shared registry link provided by the gift registrant, or by searching for the gift registry through the ‘Find a gift registry’ button and entering the registrant or co-registrant’s name and event year. Once you locate the desired gift registry, you will be able to see the products available for purchase.
No, you do not need to be an IKEA Family member to purchase from a gift registry. However, we’d love to have you join IKEA Family, our loyalty club. IKEA Family members get discounts on many products throughout the store, a free hot drink whenever they visit, and much more… Plus, it’s free to join. Learn more.
To view a gift registry list, access the list on your smartphone while in the store, or look up the registry at home prior to visiting the store. No physical printouts are necessary. If you need further assistance, please see a co-worker for guidance.
Once a gift is purchased online (or if purchased in-store, and the gift giver has checked the ‘Mark gift as purchased’ button on the gift registry site) the item will be reflected as ‘Gifted’ in the registry.
If you are purchasing an item on ikea.com you can ship to an address provided by the recipient; standard delivery fees apply and may vary by delivery destination.
Yes, we offer gift receipts for in-store purchases. Please request a gift receipt at checkout when making your purchase.
We currently do not offer a gift-wrapping service.
