Do I need to have a cover panel at the end of a dishwasher?
If you have a row of base cabinets with an open end that ends with a dishwasher, you need to add a cover panel that goes from the floor up to the countertop. This is because the countertop should not rest directly on the dishwasher or on a refrigerator or freezer.
Start by calculating how high the cover panel needs to be before you start cutting it.
Example: The frame is 80 cm high and the legs are normally 8 cm high = 88 cm from the floor to the underside of the countertop.
You then attach the cover panel as an end to the row of cabinets with FIXA support brackets both up to the countertop and to the wall and the back of the dishwasher. This ensures it stands firmly. If you end the row of cabinets with a dishwasher and a tall cabinet, you attach a FIXA support bracket to the tall cabinet.
