The product I just bought has an unpleasant smell, is that normal?
Depending on the material and how the product is packaged and because we all perceive scents differently, some items may have a distinct smell when they are new. This is normal, and the smell usually disappears within 3-4 days once the product has been aired out.
Everyone reacts differently to smells and scents. For some, new materials may feel more noticeable while others barely sense any odour at all, even the packaging methods can affect this. There is no need to worry, it is completely normal. If the product still does not meet your expectations, you are always welcome to exchange it at your nearest IKEA store, just like with our other products.
