Is there a replacement for older smart remotes?
The TRÅDFRI remote control was discontinued in the autumn of 2021 and the RODRET and STYRBAR were discontinued in January 2026. Both of these have been given a replacement called BILRESA. New features, new design and new colors!
TRÅDFRI remote control was discontinued in the autumn of 2021. The product was replaced by the RODRET remote control and the STYRBAR remote control which were sold in two colors - white and stainless steel. Since January 2026, BILRESA has replaced STYRBAR and RODRET. Now with a new design, multiple colors, and support for Matter!
With the BILRESA remote control, you can simultaneously control up to 10 TRÅDFRI LED light sources - dimming, extinguishing, switching on and gradually switching from warm to cold light. The remote control has a maximum range of 10 meters when it is not blocked by walls. A magnet also makes it easy to attach the remote to the wall mount, so you always know where the remote is.
The BILRESA remote control can be used with IKEA Smart lighting products but also lighting outside IKEA thanks to the integrated Matter protocol.
You can use DIRIGERA hub and the IKEA Home smart app to create multiple groups of lights and control them in different ways.
