Can I keep my TRÅDFRI gateway, or do I need to switch to the DIRIGERA hub?
It’s not necessary to switch from your TRÅDFRI gateway for everything to keep working. But with the DIRIGERA hub, you get a faster and smoother experience thanks to a new and improved app, more digital features, and greater capacity for connecting even more smart products.
If you already have a TRÅDFRI gateway at home, the IKEA Home smart app will guide you when you set up your new smart home with the DIRIGERA hub.
Because everything in your TRÅDFRI system is stored locally, and the app used with DIRIGERA offers new digital features, you’ll need to pair all your devices and scenes again in DIRIGERA. It’s also a great opportunity to discover new ways to get even more out of your smart home.

No. Since your smart home set-up with TRÅDFRI gateway is stored locally only, and since the app connected to DIRIGERA hub comes with new digital features, you will need to re-create scenes after pairing your smart products.
