The water in my dishwasher does not get hot, what do I do?

If limescale builds up in the dishwasher, the heating element’s ability to heat the water may be reduced, which could be the reason you are experiencing that the water in your dishwasher is not getting hot. There are a couple of different solutions to the problem, read more below.

Solution 1: Set the water hardness level on the control panel according to the product's user manual. Look at your municipality's website to find out the local water hardness.
Solution 2: If the hardness level exceeds >5°, fill with a special salt known as "dishwasher salt". Run a wash cycle immediately after filling the dishwasher salt.
Solution 3: Descale the dishwasher by using dishwasher descaler, or completely ordinary citric acid. Pour the descaler or citric acid into the detergent dispenser (200 grams) and run a hot programme without dishes.
Solution 4: Run a hot program along with dishwasher cleaner.
If none of the solutions solve the problem, please contact us at IKEA Customer Service, and we'll help you.
