Can I place my washing machine on top of a METOD cabinets?
We do not recommend placing a washing machine on top of an IKEA cabinet. Placing a washing machine or tumble dryer on top of an IKEA cabinet might seem like a space-saving solution, but safety is an important consideration. METOD cabinets are not built or tested to support the weight and movement of washing machines or dryers, and there is a risk of damage to the appliance, the cabinet, and the surrounding area. Instead, we recommend using stable platforms or furniture designed to stand around or above the machine.
We do not recommend placing a washing machine on top of an IKEA cabinet.
Washing machines are heavy, vibrate strongly, and can shift if not properly stabilized. Our METOD frames are not constructed, tested, or approved to handle that kind of load.
Additionally, in some spaces, regulations require an approved floor protection under washing machines, which cannot be achieved if the machine is placed on top of a cabinet.
Such an installation affects both safety and durability – and means that the warranty on both the cabinets and the appliance is no longer valid.
If you want to raise the washing machine or create more storage, there are safe and practical alternatives, such as building a stable platform or using furniture designed to go around or above the machine.

No, you should not place a countertop directly on a washing machine or dryer. These appliances move during operation and must not carry any weight on top of them. Incorrect installation can cause damage to both the machine, your surroundings and the countertop – and will affect the validity of the warranty.
