Can I borrow a trailer from IKEA and what does it cost?

We offer free trailer rentals at several of our stores through the company Freetrailer. You can borrow a trailer free of charge for up to 4 hours. However, if you wish to reserve your trailer in advance, Freetrailer charges a fee of 49 SEK. To rent a trailer, visit freetrailer.se. If you have any questions, you're welcome to visit Customer Service at your nearest IKEA store.

*At freetrailer.se, you can check whether your IKEA store offers trailers to rent, explore available options, and find out the dimensions of the trailers.

App
Additionally, you can use the Freetrailer app to collect and return your trailer. Through the app, you can manage pick-up, drop-off, unlock the trailer, and mark it as returned. You can add insurance for 69 SEK.

Please be aware that booking a trailer via the Freetrailers app without connecting to IKEA Wi-Fi will result in a booking fee of 49 SEK.

Pick-up
To avoid late fees, ensure that you pick up the trailer within one hour of your selected reservation time. If you arrive more than an hour late, a 199 SEK fee will apply, and the trailer may be canceled and offered to other customers.

Drop-off
The return time you have selected represents the latest time by which the trailer should be back at your IKEA store, and you should receive a return receipt. Please return the trailer to the same IKEA store where you collected it, ensuring it is clean. Without written authorization from Freetrailer, do not keep the trailer beyond your designated return time. Late returns may incur fees of up to SEK 499, in addition to any daily rental charges and excess reduction.
