How do I scan my items with my phone in a store?
With the IKEA app, you can easily scan your items while you walk around the store and then pay at one of our checkout stations near the registers. On this page, you will find a step-by-step guide on how to use self-scanning in the app when you visit one of our stores.
- Start by downloading the IKEA app from Google Store or App Store and log in with your credentials.
- Tap on the store icon.
- Select your store and then activate "Scanning."
- Scan the barcode on the product you want, or the QR code on the tag next to the product.
- The product you want to buy will appear on the screen, and you can then choose how many you want.
- When you have scanned all items and are at the registers, tap the cart icon in the app and then "Complete and pay."
- Click "Finish and pay" if you do not want to change anything in your purchase. If you had trouble scanning any items, you can add them at the register before paying. Staff are always available if you need help!
- Scan the QR code that appears on your screen at one of our checkout stations at the registers and then pay for your purchase using your preferred payment method.
- Once the payment has gone through, a receipt will be sent to your email address. The IKEA app will then give you a new QR code that you use to exit through the gate. If you have items to pick up at the collection point, you will receive a code for this as well.
- Done!

If it says “Order via Self-Service” under your product, it means that the item is available for pickup at our goods pickup area instead of the self-serve area in the store. Previously, you needed to contact store staff to reserve an item that was not available in our self-serve are, but that is no longer necessary! Instead, we have installed self-service stations in our stores, allowing you to easily reserve items available at the furniture pick-up point area on your own.

You will receive a confirmation email or SMS with pickup information, and when your order is ready, you will receive a notification to pick it up. In case of any problems during collection, please follow the instructions in the order confirmation, and if that does not help, you can contact IKEA Customer Service.
