Are IKEA products safe?

We all want our homes to be a safe place. When we work together, we can reduce the risk of accidents.

By working together, we can help prevent accidents and make the home a safer place.

Secure your furniture
All IKEA products with a "Secure it!" specification MUST be securely attached to the wall.
Should you need a replacement restraint kit to secure the IKEA furniture in your home, you can pick one up at your local store or contact us to order one free of charge. If you have a recalled item, please also contact us and cease use of your product.
If your product aligns with the Secure it specification and you require our assembly service, please note that our Assembly Service Providers will refuse to assemble your goods if you are unable to have the product secured to the wall.

Developing Safe IKEA Products
Our products are tested and verified in a very careful way. You can trust that before they are launched, every product complies with the relevant laws and standards in the market where it’s being sold – plus with our own requirements, that are often tougher than those imposed by authorities. IKEA meets the legislative standards of REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals).
