What do I do if I have received an item I did not order?
If you receive a product you have not ordered, first check if it is an extra item or if something else from the order is missing. If items are missing, contact IKEA customer service and a member of staff will help you return the wrong items and get hold of the missing ones. If you've received extra items, check your invoice to see if you've been charged, then contact IKEA Customer Service for guidance on how to proceed.
Additional Items Received
- Contact customer service online. Write "I want to talk to a human" in the chat, or call 64 00 12 73. A staff member will help you with options on how to return the extra item and provide a refund to your original payment method.
- Visit an IKEA store. You can also visit the exchange and return department in nearest department store along with the additional item and the order confirmation/receipt if it is more convenient for you. An employee will accept the return and provide a refund to the original payment method.
If you've received items you didn't order, and some you've ordered are missing, you have the following options to get help with the wrong item:
- Contact IKEA customer service online or by phone. Especially if the wrong item is too heavy or if you would rather have the missing item delivered to your address. Get in touch with an IKEA employee either by typing "I want to talk to a human" in the chat, or by calling 64 00 12 73, and they will be able to arrange home delivery of your missing items and also collection of incorrectly delivered items, if necessary.
- Visit an IKEA store. Visit the exchange and return department in your nearest IKEA store with the order confirmation/receipt and the incorrectly delivered item. A colleague can replace the wrong item you received with correctly in the store, or arrange a home delivery for you if the item is out of stock or you cannot take it home.
If something is missing after delivery or Click & Collect at a warehouse or a pickup location, be sure to first check if your order is split into multiple deliveries, as the missing item may still be on its way. If you notice that items are still missing from your order, please contact customer service for further assistance.
