What do I do if a product breaks on the way home or during assembly?

If your product breaks down during transport home or during assembly, you may be able to use "Oops insurance" within 14 days to have the product replaced free of charge, provided you were using your IKEA Family membership when you purchased the product. If your membership wasn't registered, unfortunately your insurance won't apply, but you can still consider paid repair or replacement options.

If your IKEA product accidentally breaks while you take it home or during assembly, the next step will depend on whether you registered your IKEA Family membership during purchase. 
 

IKEA Family membership was registered during purchase  

If you registered your IKEA Family membership when you bought the item, as a member you can use "Oop's insurance" within 14 days and get a new part or item for free. To check if you registered your membership at the time of purchase, you can Logging in to your IKEA Family account and check 'My Purchases'. There you will also be able to find your receipt.
Remember that this is an insurance that only applies once per product. You will have the following options when you take advantage of the insurance: 
  • Visit nearest IKEA stores.
    Bring the damaged product, your IKEA Family membership card and your receipt for verification.
  • Contact IKEA customer service online or by phone.
    If you do not have the opportunity to travel to the store, we can send you a new part or product if you pay for the transport.
    Write "I want to talk to a person" in the chat or call us on number 64 00 12 73. Please make sure you have your order confirmation or receipt ready when contacting.
 

The IKEA Family card was not used during the purchase 

"Oops insurance" is an exclusive benefit for IKEA Family members who registered their membership during a purchase. If you are not a member yet or have not used your membership, you will not be able to use the Oops insurance. However, you can still contact IKEA customer service online or in-store to check if there is a spare part.
