What can I do if my product is missing some parts?
If you have received a product or package that is missing parts, you can either order these parts online, pick up the missing parts at an IKEA store or arrange delivery through IKEA Customer Service, depending on which part you are missing.
We apologize for the inconvenience and we will do our best to help you. If you're missing a part of a product you've just purchased, start by opening and checking off any boxes you brought home from the store or that were delivered to you, as some products may be split into multiple boxes. If the product you purchased is actually missing one or more parts, it depends on whether you can find a 6- or 8-digit code for the missing part in the assembly guide. Some small spare parts, such as screws or connectors, have a code, while others do not.
If you do not have the assembly guide available, you can find it by searching for the product on IKEA.com and then going to Product Details > Assembly and Documents > Assembly Instructions.
There's a 6- or 8-digit code
If you find the 6- or 8-digit code for the missing part, it means that you can order replacement parts through a Online self-service tool on IKEA.no and have them shipped directly to you for free. If you need the spare part more urgently, most warehouses (except for the planning and order point) also have a small selection of spare parts available. Stock availability can vary, but if the part is in stock, an employee can arrange for you to take it home immediately.
If you choose to visit an IKEA store, but the spare part is not in stock, an employee will also be able to arrange a delivery of the spare part if it is in an external warehouse. You can also Contact IKEA customer service before you go to the warehouse to check if the spare part is in stock.
There is no 6- or 8-digit code
If you cannot find a code for the missing part, it is possible that a larger part of the item is available and it is not possible to order via the self-service solution.
- Contact IKEA customer service by chat or phone. Write "I want to talk to a human" in the chat or call us on 64 00 12 73 to get in touch with IKEA customer service. The employee will be able to identify the part you are missing and, if necessary, arrange delivery for you with the missing part. Remember to have your order number/receipt readily available when you contact us.
- Visit an IKEA store. Make sure to bring your purchase invoice/receipt to nearest IKEA store. If you registered your IKEA Family account at the time of purchase, you can also find your receipts by Log in to your profile and tap on "My Purchases". When you arrive at the store, go to the exchange and returns department.
An IKEA employee will help you identify the missing part. If the part is in stock, you may be able to take it home right away. If not, your colleague can help you arrange delivery at home when the item is in stock.
