What do I do if my appliance is not working properly?
If you've noticed a quality issue with a home appliance or it's not working properly, you can report this directly to the manufacturer if the product is still within warranty. If the appliance is an IKEA product, you can contact IKEA customer service either by chat or phone.
Appliances are subject to the Consumer Purchase Act, which gives you a 5-year warranty. By checking your order confirmation/receipt, you can confirm whether the product is still within warranty. You can also Log in to your IKEA Family account and navigate to 'My purchases' if you registered your IKEA Family membership at the time of purchase.
Depending on the device and the problem, we recommend starting by taking a look at the user manual. There you will find troubleshooting guides that explain how to deal with common error codes and problems, which can help you solve the problem yourself.
If you have checked everything and your appliance is still not working properly, the next step depends on who manufactured the appliance. You can find the manufacturer's name, model, and serial number on the rating plate, usually located inside the appliance. Visit our home appliance support page for more information on manufacturer and nameplates.
If your appliance is manufactured by an external supplier
If the appliance is made by an external manufacturer such as Whirlpool, Faber or Electrolux, contact the manufacturer directly. Make sure you still have your IKEA order number/receipt, as well as the model and serial number of the appliance ready when you get in touch.
