IKEA is recalling METALLISK espresso maker for hob 0.4 l with the stainless steel safety valve, production batch number between 2040 and 2204, as the product can burst during use

Ikano Retail Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (IKEA) urges all customers who own METALLISK espresso maker for hob 0.4 l with the stainless steel safety valve, production batch number between 2040 and 2204 to stop using it and to contact IKEA for a full refund.

Safety is a top priority for IKEA and therefore we are recalling METALLISK espresso maker with the stainless-steel safety valve, production batch number between 2040 and 2204, due to an increased risk of the product bursting during use. The risk has increased after a change of material and construction of the safety valve therefore only the products with the stainless steel safety valve (silver/grey in color), are included in the recall. No other units are affected by this recall. 

METALLISK espresso maker with the stainless-steel safety valve, date stamps between 2040 and 2204, can be returned to any IKEA store located in the United Mexican States, as long as it was purchased in Mexican territory. for a full refund. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required.

IKEA points out that the total number of units sold that could present the referred problem is 163 units and estimates an approximate term of 4 months for the recall of the product, taking into consideration the different factors related to the execution of the recall, among which, by way of example but not limited to, are the consumer's response to the call made to them.
