Under the sink there are sound-absorbing silicon pads which dampen resonances in the metal when using the sink, thus lowering the sound level.
Good to know
When stainless steel is new, it is natural that the first scratches are visible. They become less visible over time as the material is used and gets a more matte tone.

Care
Wipe clean with a cloth dampened in a mild cleaner.
