Neither value for Money nor easy to installAnchal J.This product is not worth at all, tighten screw by self is most difficult and holes are not properly aligned for screw. It's not as durable as it looks (for online buyers).2
was short of two screws and it does tend to lean a bitGoutham J.The product is alright, it does look a bit more pale when compared to the pictures present in the site. I was short of two screws so Ikea should at the least put in a few spares in the order so as to avoid this issue. I have assembled it completely and to be honest, its a decent shelving unit but I don't like everything about it. i'll give it a try for a few days before issuing a refund if i'm not completely satisfied with it.4
very nice for storage. ButSruthivery nice for storage. But the bulkier it gets, it wobbles a bit5

Great product for the priceCaptain m.Great product for the price5
Nice little standSanjayUsing it for a few weeks. Good so far. Not meant for full size pots or heavy loads. I am using it with 6 medium sized plastic pots/planters. Quite ok. Good to see galvanized steel after many years. Careful to not let it stay wet or get scratches. You will find many complaints and negative reviews about how to put it togather. Ignore them. The design seems to be deliberate to create stress in the stand when you put it together. Follow the instructions. Do not tighten the screws in the first round. Use them as place holders and get the whole thing up. Then in the second round tighten them. The stress is what will hold it together. You are using self threading metal screws and not using nut/bolt system. When putting it togather you may have to use a little force to align the holes, that is fine if you have not tightened the screws completely.4
Sturdy storageJanmejayOverall, a good product; however, the alignment of some holes on the shelves and the supports was not accurate. I needed the help of two persons to bend the supports for aligning the supports before I could drive in the screws. IKEA can certainly do better.4
Useful For The BalconyShivIt's useful for the balcony. I use it for keeping potted plants. It is weather proof and it should last a long time. Looks clean and neat.4
Difficult to install but prettyGowthamDifficult to install but pretty sturdy! Wish it was in black!5
Efficient use of small spaceNehaIt's very good5
Hyllis reviewSridharA very practical product with minimalist construction that is easy to assemble as well as elegant enough to qualify for storage of you-name-it items although you got be a little careful with the weight of the items you intend to store. The only thing that is not so ikea about it is the protruding screw head that scratched my wall as I was placing it in the corner of my room.4

Its not durable and can be used to keep light stuff onlyUtkarshIts not durable and can be used to keep light stuff only. I tried with keeping plant pots but it shakes and cannot withstand the load of more than 20 kgs. you can get strong slotted angle racks in market with solid steel and wait bearing capacity of around 100 kgs at half the price.2
Cheap and sturdyVikramThe material is good. The color and shine makes it look a bit cheap. Installation takes a bit of time as it has a lot of screws4
It's a good one butSmithaIt's a good one but width could have been a little more5
good oneAnishas a product it is an amazing product, great value for money, quality as as expected, but it didn't serve my purpose of outdoor plant shelf. All my plants cant be on the shelf, only small pot plants which don't grow tall can be placed. the only the top row can be used for plants, other rows can be considered for small pots, jade, succulents etc only. bit disappointed, but it can organize a lot of your small pots.5
Value for money. However, looksSRIDHARValue for money. However, looks flimsy and the load carrying capacity too is less.4
Pure funtionalityMichaelA very basic set of shelves. Very sturdy. Might look better if you paint it or mod it with a wood shelf over the top. One screw was missing from the pack. Might buy it again.4
HYLLIS Shelving unit, in/outdoor, 60x27x74 cm

HYLLIS creates room for life on the balcony

Some of us live smaller than we’d like. It often means a constant hunt for more space. So why not try and use the space we have in smarter ways? This was something our product developers wanted to help out with when they created a small version of HYLLIS – a shelf that fits almost anywhere – and can be used if you want to grow your own herbs and small plants.

Philip Dilé, one of the members in the development team behind HYLLIS, live in an apartment with balcony in southern Sweden. “My balcony is filled with stuff. I’d like to use it for something other than storage, and I think many of our customers feel the same way.”

Cover from the elements

To shield our balconies from weather, wind and exhaust fumes, it usually isn’t enough with the protection from the neighbour above. That’s why the team decided to create a cover for HYLLIS. They made it transparent and added ventilation holes. It makes it possible to use the cover and the shelf as a greenhouse.

Become a balcony farmer

“I grow herbs myself. It saves money and it’s fun to see life sprout on your own balcony. I think people who live in cities should be able to grow small plants and herbs too, even if they don’t have access to a garden,” says Philip. With HYLLIS shelf and cover they can do it in a small scale and use the balcony for more things than storing – a greener life and a smarter use of space at home.

What is steel?

Steel has unique characteristics when it is stretched and shaped since it remains strong. It provides strength to everything from skyscrapers and cars to bed frames and outdoor furniture. The steel industry is moving in the direction of more energy-efficient production and stronger steel qualities. It doesn’t lose any of its properties when recycled and today steel is one of the most recycled materials in the world.
