PLASA – an office on top of the vibrant IKEA store in Bangalore​

​The new workplace of Purchasing & Logistics Area South Asia, in Bangalore/India on the top of IKEA Nagasandra Retail Store was launched on March 10th, 2023.​​

The whole space is based on the principles of collaboration and innovation. The activity-based office has lots of open places for co-workers to come together and ideate, while the space flexibility generates more innovative way of working. The office doesn’t consist of many fixed walls, which makes the space easy to change according to new needs, especially in the post pandemic world. ​​

As part of the health perspective for both the mind and the body an activity and play area is integrated. This is where co-workers can unwind with a board game after work, have a ping pong lunch tournament or just stretch out their body in a pair of the Romanian rings. ​​

Natural light and big open windows overlooking the metro station and customers lining up to enter the store, makes looking out so inspiring and refreshing. The whole office is graded on noise and light levels so co-workers can choose their own quite or hot spot to work or mingle.

​​A specially designed quality lab, food lab, FIKA corner, meet & eat, collaboration boxes, ergonomic stations and lots more are added to embrace everyday work needs. Coming together near the coffee machine or in a meeting room or workshop area, to collaborate, socialize, meet or work on your own is up to everyone.

Use solitaire cushions to soften a wooden backrest at your seating solution. Choose the size of an IKEA cushion pad and customise your cushion with one of the many cushion covers from the IKEA range. Mix and match, create a colorful and unconventional look for your seating solution in all areas.​
In a corner in front of the big windows a silent room is located. Sofas, divan beds and cosy armchairs provide a calm and relaxing atmosphere for highly concentrated individual work or just for a rest to revitalize and energise. ​
A big open meeting area, a cosy workspace or just for relaxing, the centralized soft seating area is a key element of the PLASA office. The iconic IKEA KLIPPAN sofa, matching coffee tables and accessories show Scandinavian interior design at it’s best.​
A break is essential at work. FIKA means coffee break in Swedish and is important as having a chai in India. The big FIKA area includes a kitchenette and dining tables, a perfect place to come together for a break and casual conversations.​
