Art display ideas and inspiration for your home

What makes a home? This is the question we’ve been trying to answer with We Love Home, a new IKEA project. Art, nature, colour and textiles - all play an important role. Refresh your space in the new year, taking this mood board as inspiration. Using art, add a personal touch to your homes.

Bring out your inner artist

Show your creative side and unleash your imagination on the walls. How about painting some geometric shapes and using sticky tape to define the edges?

Play with shapes and layouts

An individual painting hung on the wall might not create much of an impact. Hanging a cluster of frames tightly together allows them to be seen as a whole.

There’s more than one way to hang your art pieces

Want to try something different? Try using some not so traditional methods of hanging your artwork, like putting up a wire with clips. With the clips, it’s also easy to change the artwork whenever you like.

Display your artwork on a ledge

Play with the dimensions of the artwork, layer the pieces and change them easily when desired. Try using different depths of ledges - we’ve used shelves for the lower ones.

A different meaning to the word ‘wall art’

Add lots of black and white photos or pages from your favourite book, turning an entire wall into a beautiful collage.

We love to see our customers get creative with our products. Go for it! But please note that altering or modifying IKEA products so they can no longer be re-sold or used for their original purpose, means the IKEA commercial guarantees and your right to return the products will be lost.
