A stay-all-day bedroom sanctuary

Remember when ‘go to your room’ was a threat? Now it’s more of a desirable time out, right? Sleeping. Reading. Doing nothing. Ahhh. Check out this bedroom where you can stay for hours and do what you want.

You can use IKEA products to make a cocoon bed. Install a track rail system on the ceiling around a bed frame, like KOPPARDAL in grey, powder-coated steel. Hang curtains like SANELA in dark blue cotton velvet that help block light and dampen noise.

IIKEA can help you turn any bedframe into a cocoon bed. Just use a corner room divider to attach trail rails and hooks to the ceiling around your. Hang up curtains like SANELA in thick, dark blue cotton velvet to block light and dampen noise.

Shut out light (and the world) by making a cocoon. Use a corner room divider, which has all the track rails and hooks you need to hang curtains from the ceiling and surround the bed. Tie cushions onto the headboard for more support and less sound. For a playful touch, build up with curtain rods and cushions on clipped curtain rings. Keep clothes behind closed doors.

IKEA has lots of ideas about how to make your bedroom more comfortable. To dampen sound, extend your headboard. Attach curtain rods to the wall above your headboard and use PORTION curtain rings with hooks to hang up lots of cushions.

Take an unconventional approach to dark bedroom furniture with pieces from the dining room or kitchen to create an eating and working area. INGATORP extendable table from IKEA has a popular traditional look with a circular top in black ash veneer.

Spend time with your creativity and lots of coffee at a big table. For a calm, hotel feel, use minimal decor. Floating wall cabinets add to the cleanliness while storing your things inside and on display. (They’re actually kitchen cabinets that fit more flexibly under a sloped ceiling.) A pendant lamp lets you see what you’re doing even if someone else is sleeping.

IKEA has lots of interior design ideas like having a table in your bedroom, so you can pretend you ordered room service. A GLATTIS round tray in brass-coloured, metallised stainless steel helps you carry in your food and adds eye-catching elegance.

FADO table lamp from IKEA can help make your bedroom more comfortable by adding ambience to a display like this one with candles and a painting. The lamp’s clear, grey glass dome shade lets the warm glow of a light bulb shine through.

Hide a TV by putting standing mirrors in front of a wall-mounted screen. We used three IKEA KARMSUND standing mirrors that are 167 cm metres high and have a a black, powder-coated steel frame and legs. Just move the mirrors when it’s time for TV.

Or maybe you’d rather just stay in bed and binge watch. Use standing mirrors on the floor to hide a wall-mounted screen. When it’s TV time, just pick them up and move them. The mirrors are also handy for getting dressed, spreading light around the room and drawing attention to that oh-so-comforting bed.

IKEA has lots of storage ideas like PINNIG coat rack in black powder-coated steel and zinc. With two rows of hooks, a bench and two shelvess, there’s space to put your things away when you walk in, which helps give your bedroom a calm and clean feel.

When it’s time to go beyond the bedroom door, make it as easy as possible. An unloading station by the door with a coat rack, storage bench or some hooks works as spot to put the day away when you first come in. Bag, shoes, a quick change of clothes—everything’s there and neatly organised for you to grab without thinking.
