A no-cook holiday dinner party

Here’s how to throw a dinner party without cooking a single thing or even using a single plate. Want more good news? You can find most of these items at your IKEA store.

Consider replacing the elaborate, exhausting dinner party with a spread of already-prepared foods. It’s visually beautiful and relieves a ton of pressure.

Forget the over-the-top table setting. Create the base for your meal by using a variety of rustic, wooden chopping boards that run down the length of your dining table.

Every winter meal needs a bit of hearty bread. So we suggest an offering of our ready-to-mix whole grain loaf, crisp bread, crackers and wrap bread.

Now it’s time to bring on the major flavours. Arrange a handful of different meats and cheeses to build the ultimate charcuterie board.

Next, go for the greens. Chop your veggies and arrange them neatly in an eye-catching display of delicate glass vessels.

To make the meal a bit more filling, add a few warm entree items and sauces. We might be biased, but our cheese pies, meatballs and veggie balls are all tasty options.

Lastly, add the finishing touches. Those little nibbles that always manage to disappear the fastest, like olives and nuts. And for an decorative element, run some chain lights along the edges of the chopping boards.

We love to see our customers get creative with our products. Go for it! But please note that altering or modifying IKEA products so they can no longer be re-sold or used for their original purpose, means the IKEA commercial guarantees and your right to return the products will be lost.
