Terms and conditions for Ratings and Reviews

Disclaimer: By submitting a review, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. IKEA reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. These Terms are governed by the laws of India. IKEA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of reviews or related services.

Voluntary Submission: Submitting a review is entirely voluntary. IKEA does not provide compensation for reviews.

  1. Acceptance of Terms: By submitting a review on IKEA.in or any associated IKEA platform, you acknowledge and agree that IKEA may use your review in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Please read these Terms carefully before submitting your review.
  2. Use of Personal Data: (a) IKEA and its appointed moderators will have access to all information you provide when submitting a review. This includes your full name, location, email address, IKEA Family account details, IP address, device id and images (if uploaded). Such information may be used to improve IKEA’s products and services. (b) IKEA and its authorized third-party service providers may use your email address solely for purposes related to your review. Your email address will not be used for marketing purposes. (c) IKEA engages Yotpo Ltd as a data processor to assist in processing and administering reviews. IKEA has entered into a data processing agreement with Yotpo Ltd to ensure appropriate security measures are in place. (d) Yotpo Ltd is located outside India, specifically in the United States of America. Transfer of personal data to the USA is safeguarded through Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) executed between IKEA and Yotpo Ltd.
  3. Publication of Personal Data: Only your first name will be visible on IKEA.in. Any images submitted will be displayed solely in connection with the review and will not be used in any other context. Your review can be seen outside India as well on IKEA websites.
    If you submit a rating or review, we use it to improve our products and services and to share with other IKEA customers on our website and app. Because IKEA operates globally, your review may also appear in other countries where IKEA retailers operate. Only an abbreviation of your name or a nickname will be displayed publicly. However, we retain access to the full review for moderation purposes.

Use of Reviews: (a) By submitting a review, you grant IKEA a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify as appropriate, and publish your review for purposes including but not limited to improving products and services. (b) Reviews may be translated and published on other IKEA websites. (c) IKEA may use the text of your review for promotional purposes (including advertising and social media) without using your personal data. (d) IKEA may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to analyze and summarize customer feedback; AI will not use personal data. These summaries may highlight product features and insights in an easily digestible format for customers.
  5. Moderation and Publication: (a) All reviews are subject to moderation to ensure compliance with these Terms. (b) IKEA reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to publish, reject, or remove any review.
  6. Visibility of Reviews: (a) Reviews may be visible to visitors on IKEA platforms (including websites, app, and stores). (b) IKEA does not control third-party copying or distribution of reviews once published. (c) Reviews used for promotional purposes may be visible to the general public.
  7. Withdrawal of Reviews: Reviews cannot be edited or deleted after submission. To request deletion of a review, please contact IKEA Customer Service.
  8. Content Requirements: (a) Reviews must relate exclusively to IKEA products or services and must be accurate and complete. (b) Reviews containing offensive, discriminatory, or unlawful language are prohibited. (c) Reviews must be original and must not infringe any third-party rights, including copyright. (d) Reviews must not include external links, contact details, viruses, or harmful content. (e) Reviews must comply with applicable laws and regulations in India. (f) You are solely responsible for the content of your review. (g) IKEA reserves the right to determine compliance with these Terms. (h) Customers must not upload personal photographs or images containing themselves or other identifiable individuals. Such images will not be published and will be discarded on privacy grounds. (i) Only product-related images are permitted. Any image deemed to violate privacy or these Terms will be rejected.
  9. Eligibility to Submit Reviews: (a) You must be at least 18 years old to submit a review. (b) Reviews must be based on genuine experience with the product or service. (c) Reviews submitted in exchange for compensation are prohibited. (d) You must be logged in to submit a review on IKEA.in.
  10. Retention of Reviews: (a) Reviews will be retained for a period of three (3) years, after which they will be anonymized. (b) If a product is discontinued, all associated reviews will be deleted.
