Terms and conditions for GST Rate Change (Effective 22 Sept 2025)
Q: From when will new GST rates apply at IKEA?
A: From 22 Sept 2025 (00:00 hrs.).
Q: I made a purchase before 22nd of September. Do I get the GST differential benefit?
A: No, if the goods are invoiced against the purchase made before 22nd of September, the same will not be eligible for GST price benefit.
Q: I placed my order before 22 Sept, but it will be delivered later. Will I get the benefit?
A: Yes, If the Tax Invoice is not issued before 22nd Sept, you will receive a refund of the GST difference. Our Customer Support Centre will communicate for the impacted purchases.
Q: How will I know if compensation is processed?
A: You will receive an email confirmation from IKEA Customer Support Center with details of your refund.
Q: Will returns after GST change be impacted?
A: No. Returns are processed as per your original invoice value.
Q: Will the prices on IKEA.in and the IKEA app show updated GST rates?
A: Yes. From 00:00 hrs. on 22nd September, all prices online and in the IKEA app will reflect the revised GST rates.
Q: Do I need to request for GST compensation, or will IKEA process it automatically?
A: You don’t need to raise a request. IKEA RCMP will automatically calculate and process GST refunds for all impacted orders.
Q: Can I request to change my old invoice (before 22 Sept) to get the new GST benefit?• A: No. Invoices raised before 22nd September cannot be modified or updated for GST benefits.
Q: Can I convert my B2C invoice into a B2B invoice to claim GST benefit?
A: No. Updating invoices from B2C to B2B for purchases made before 22nd September cannot be catered.
Q: What happens if my order was billed before 22nd September but delivered later?
A: Only orders where the Tax Invoice was not issued before 22nd September are eligible for GST difference refunds. If your invoice was already issued before 22nd September, GST benefits will not apply.
Q: How and when will I receive the GST refund?
A: Refunds will be processed between 23rd–30th September 2025. The amount will be refunded to your original mode of payment, and you will receive an email confirmation.
Q: Will GST changes affect the warranty or after-sales support of my product?
A: No. Warranty, service, and after-sales support remain unchanged. Only the applicable tax rate has been revised.
- The revised GST rates are effective from 22nd September 2025, 00:00 hrs. for online purchases and 8:00 AM for in-store purchases.
- All prices displayed and charged from 22nd September 2025 onwards will include the revised GST rates.
- Orders placed before 22nd September but invoiced after this date will be compensated for the GST difference based on the revised selling price; customers will be notified accordingly.
- Purchases made or goods delivered before 22nd September 2025 are not eligible for any GST adjustment or benefit.
- Returns and refunds will always be processed based on the original invoice value, regardless of GST changes.
- No retrospective GST adjustment, invoice alterations, or conversion from B2C to B2B invoices will be made for purchases made before 22nd September 2025.
- GST compensation for eligible orders is automatic; customers do not need to raise any requests.
- Refunds related to GST changes will be processed between 23rd and 30th September 2025 and credited to the original mode of payment.
- Standardized communication will be sent for any GST compensation or refund.
- GST changes have no impact on product warranty, service, or after-sales support; these are governed by existing policies.
- Disclaimer (GST Rate Change – Effective 22 September 2025) IKEA shall not be liable for any claims, losses, or damages, whether direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential, including but not limited to financial, physical, or emotional loss, arising from or related to the implementation of revised GST rates, issuance of compensation, returns, refunds, or exchanges associated with GST adjustments. All benefits under the GST rate revision are processed in accordance with applicable law and are subject to the operational guidelines, terms, and conditions outlined by IKEA for the GST rate change. No liability shall accrue to IKEA, its parent companies, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, or agents, beyond what is expressly provided under prevailing GST legislation and the specific procedures communicated for this campaign.
- All requests for compensation, claims or returns relating to GST changes will be settled strictly as per the original invoice value or in line with compensation policies published by IKEA. No retrospective modifications or benefits shall be provided for purchases or invoices issued prior to the effective GST change date, and no further obligation, liability, or responsibility shall arise for IKEA in connection with the above, except as expressly mandated by law or IKEA’s published process.
