Screws & fasteners
Holding the essentials together
Decorating your home involves creative and DIY skills. It is essential that you use the right fasteners for the right task. Hooks, nails and screws are the basics required to fix wood components to each other or to other surfaces. Hooks and eyes help you hold and secure items to walls and shelves.
Building your own DIY kit
Spend the next weekend framing and hanging your favourite pictures on a wall. You will not have to hire a handyman for the simple job of fixing picture hooks when you have the right tools at home. Our kits of screws and fasteners have a set of all the essential items that you will need. You can update your tool kit with these DIY essentials. Simple tasks are easy to do with the help of the provided items and additional tools such as a drill, hammer and tape measure. To hang pictures, you should first decide on the placement and arrangement before you start placing hooks on the wall. Our collage frames come with collage templates to help you decide on an arrangement. You may also need a level when hanging pictures.
How to hang pictures easily
First, examine the surface that you are hanging the picture on. Choose the hardware that is appropriate for that surface. The right wall hooks make it easy to hang pictures securely. Concrete walls and plaster walls need different types of hooks. Determine where you are going to position the frame on the wall. A single frame or a collection of frames looks best when centred horizontally on the wall or surface. The centre of the picture or the arrangement should be at eye level for easy viewing. Eye-level is usually 57 to 60 inches from the floor. Use a measuring tape and mark the distance. A level will come in handy to place the picture collection perfectly. If your floor slopes, instead of using a level, hang the pictures so that they look level.
Easy to adjust picture hanging
All too often, we decide that a picture should be just a little bit lower or higher after the wall hook is fixed. The adjustable picture hanger lets you adjust the picture level without changing the placement of the hook. It is ideal to get the picture arrangement just right.
Wooden screws
High-quality wooden screws are essential to assemble large wooden items. They are also used to fix hinges, attach shelf brackets and locks on doors. Galvanised steel screws are essential to prevent erosion over time. Our kit of screws for wooden surfaces come in different sizes for various applications.
Hooks and eyes
Use hooks and eyes for hanging decorative items and textiles in your home. Hooks and eyes are especially handy for use on wooden surfaces. Our kit includes a hook driver so that you can screw in hooks easily without hurting your hands.
Neat and orderly cables
Electronic equipment uses cables and wires that can make a tangled mess. Good cable management is essential to keep cables orderly and safe. Use cable management systems to keep all the cables of your computer, stereo and television well organised. Cable ties at equal intervals keep cords bunched up neatly. Use cable holders and clips along a surface to keep cables flush with the wall or cabinet. Self-adhesive cable holders are very easy to install.
Surface protectors
Repeated friction caused by moving chairs on a wooden floor or by lamps and other heavy items on a tabletop can wear out the floor or tabletop. Stick-on protectors are a simple and easy way to protect wooden surfaces from wear and tear. Plastic floor protectors also protect the chair from moisture damage caused by wet, freshly mopped floors.
