Outdoor party, middle of the city
Throw a party! Summer may still be a few months off, but borrowing the mood brings it closer. Turn factors like limited space and fear of bad weather in your favour – and turn a corner of the city into a feast that everyone will remember.
A trolley to roll out the good times
A storage bench with wheels is useful to begin with. For a portable outdoor gathering, it’s a lifesaver. Fill it up, roll it in place and bring the party contents right out. If your guests bring chairs and tables along, you’re free to set up camp just about anywhere.
Set the table with the green notes of summer
Once you’re in place, let colours and patterns set the mood. Also, give the table setting a summery boost with a combination of greenery and glass. It does wonders regardless if you use it for decoration – a leaf between plates – or make a course of it (like this easy-to-transport salad in a jar). Or why not place platters of food on top of low, wide vases (as seen below)?
Keeping guests happy with self-serve stations
To free space on the table, storage benches come in handy again, now as sideboards. They make accessible stations to serve ready-made drinks and refreshments from. Like chunks of fruit served on skewers – popsicles that won’t melt! And make sure to bring battery-powered LED lighting chains. Chances are it’s going to be a long night.
