How does the IKEA guarantee work?

We test our products thoroughly, which is why we are confident in their quality, so that we can give many sets a warranty of several years. However, all the products we sell also have a defect liability.

Duration of liability for defects is determined by the expected service life of the product.
Complaints about our product are therefore handled either under warranty or defect liability, depending on the product. We solve situations together with the customer on a case-by-case basis. 
The warranty period starts from the date of purchase of the product or the date of delivery or pick-up of the order. For warranty processing, we need an original proof of payment, order confirmation or some other proof of purchase of the product.
