Do you have a play area in the store?

Yes! We welcome all children aged 3-7 to come and play in the SMÅLAND playroom.

SMÅLAND is a supervised IKEA play area where you can leave your child while you shop. In the SMÅLAND playroom, children can have fun in the ball pit, watch films, draw and colour, or simply play.
  • Children aged 3–7 are welcome to play. Please be prepared to provide proof of your child’s age if necessary.
  • Playtime is one hour, or 45 minutes during busy periods.
  • For hygiene reasons, children must wear socks while playing, so please bring a pair with you!

Arriving for playtime

  • When leaving a child to play, the adult must complete an electronic registration form providing all the necessary details.
  • The child’s outdoor clothing, shoes and other belongings are stored in a numbered box during the visit.
  • The child and adult receive matching stamped numbers, which are always checked before the child is released to the adult.
  • If your child needs you, we’ll call you straight away. For this and other safety reasons, you must remain in the store throughout your child’s playtime.
  • For safety reasons, our staff and the child’s guardian must share a common language so that we can contact the guardian if needed.
