Part of the Nytillverkad collection where several IKEA classics have been given a new look.

This armchair frame was part of the GOGO series which was launched in our 1972 catalogue and was described as "light and portable". The designers were the duo Charlotte Rude and Hjördis Olsson-Une.

In 1972, we used standard steel for the frame’s tubes, but the tubes are made of high-strength steel in this updated version, which cuts material consumption in half.

    Wipe dry with a clean cloth.

    Check regularly that all assembly fastenings are properly tightened and retighten when necessary.

  • Only use the armchair together with ÖNNESTAD cushion set, sold separately.This seating furniture is tested and complies with relevant strength and durability standards. The tests simulate typical usage of the product and are based on use by persons weighing up to 110 kg.

Designer thoughts

After finishing Konstfack University, designers Charlotte Rude and Hjördis Olsson-Une ended up in Älmhult at Elme glass factory in 1968, only a few hundred metres from our head office. So the duo was soon employed and produced one product after the other in a short time. The GOGO series was described in the 1972 catalogue as "fun-shaped tubes with extra-soft cushions". A fitting description, also for ÖNNESTAD armchair frame and cushion set in the Nytillverkad collection.
