IKEA guarantee

We are aware of the quality of our products and many of them come with a guarantee. In the list below you will find all our guarantees.

Please note that our guarantees are at the moment only in the German language. For support or further information please contact our customer service.

Good to know:

The guarantee period begins on the date of purchase. Please keep the original receipt or the original invoice in a safe place. These documents are required as proof of purchase and must be presented in order to claim guarantee services. For online orders, the order confirmation is sufficient as proof of purchase.

The guarantee is only valid for private use and covers damage to materials and workmanship.


In the event of a guarantee claim

What is being done to fix the problem?

IKEA will inspect the product and check whether there is a guarantee claim. For some products (electrical appliances as well as televisions, sound systems), we take the liberty of commissioning a competent service partner to check the guarantee claim and carry out the repair.

If there is a guarantee claim, the following will happen: IKEA will have the defective product repaired or replace it with an identical or comparable product. IKEA will pay the costs of repair, spare parts and the labour and travel costs of the fitter. Replaced parts become the property of IKEA. If the product is no longer stocked by IKEA, IKEA will offer an appropriate replacement product. If necessary, reasonable monetary compensation may also be paid.

When does the guarantee apply?

The guarantee period begins on the date of purchase. Please keep the original receipt or invoice in a safe place - these documents are required as proof of purchase.

The guarantee does not apply to defects caused by faulty assembly, improper use or violent impact, nor to incidental or consequential damage. Unless otherwise stated, the guarantee applies only to domestic use of the product in question. For details, see the guarantee conditions and the guarantee description for each product.

The guarantee requires that the specific care instructions for each product are followed. All care instructions can be found on the price tag in IKEA stores and on the IKEA website under the detailed information for each product.
