Why can’t I use Klarna as a payment method at IKEA?

If Klarna is not available as a payment method for your IKEA order, there may be several reasons. Find out which factors Klarna considers and what you can do next.

When you place an order using Klarna, Klarna carries out an identity and credit check.
Whether the payment method is approved is determined by Klarna based on several factors.

1. What does Klarna check?

The assessment may take into account:
  • your previous orders with Klarna
  • the value of your current order
  • information available from a credit reference agency
If the results do not meet Klarna’s internal requirements, the requested payment method may not be approved.
A combination of other factors may also mean that your order cannot be completed using Klarna.

2. What can you do if Klarna is not available?

If you are unable to complete your order using Klarna, we recommend choosing another available payment method at checkout.

3. Klarna is only available to private customers

Please note: Klarna is only available as a payment option for private customers.
You cannot use Klarna if you:
  • are logged in with your IKEA Business Online profile
  • or selected that you are ordering as a business customer during checkout
