Impossible to installAngelaThese shelves come without screws, but whichever screws you are using there isn't enough room in the back to hold a shelf that is 10 inches deep. The screws are supposed to stick out just a few millimeters and the shelf is supposed to hang on those. Ridiculous. I ended up using brackets to hold the shelf up.1
Not sturdy, pulls out from wallAlisonFirst, I didn't realize this doesn't come with screws. I do see now that it says that in the instructions and details in the description.
I used the correct dry wall anchors and screws for this. I installed the first one and it's wobbly and slightly angled forward away from the wall. It's for my kid's Lego sets so nothing too heavy, but I'm still concerned about things sliding off the front. The second one I'm installing just won't stay without pulling the wall anchors out of the wall, and that's with nothing on it. When my son puts Legos on it, it leans forward and pulls off the wall. Then it sits at too much of an angle to safely place things on.
Maybe my screws need a bigger head to support the shelf? The instructions should include what size head of screw it needs. Or supply the most common screws and wall anchors (most likely drywall anchors).
By the time I am getting around to hanging these up, I'm outside of the return window.2
Very hard to mountEmilyThis is almost impossible to mount. Even if you get the right screws in the exact right spot in the wall you still have to worry about how far from the wall the screws hang out. If you put the screws too far out the shelf hangs down. If you put the screws to far in the shelf won't hang at all. I ruined my drywall anchors trying to get it just right with no success.1
Horrible to InstallShannonThese shelves are ridiculous to install. Impossible to get even or secure without sagging. I would not recommend these unless you want to end up with huge holes in the wall along with weak, saggy shelves.1
Floating Shelves Look GreatKarenI wish they came in more colors like they did years ago.5
Fairly easy to installJohnI really like these little shelves. I have several around the house. However, the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it is nearly impossible to install these small shelves so that they line up with the longer LACK shelves. I wish they used the same bracket system as the long shelves. Otherwise, if you're not concerned about using these small shelves as an extension of the longer ones, they do just fine. And for those who wish IKEA included the wall screws, there is no way IKEA can accommodate every kind of wall. Do a little bit of due diligence on your part to figure out what kind of screws you need for your wall material (brick? drywall? plaster? wood?) and it'll be a piece of cake to put up these LACK shelves.4

Nice shelvesLuisGreat shelve with a great price5
Perfect shelf for displayDavidBeing a designer for retail, film & TV I have used these small Lack shelves for years on numerous projects. They are quick to install and perfect size for frame, product or numerous other pieces. You can create wonderful designs putting them in many different looks.4
I like the colorJohnI'm a big fan of the LACK shelf series. They're easy to install and look good. The red adds a splash of color.5
How can they not include the screws?RaineThis Shelf requies a specific seco yet it’s not included!.
I J have to use anchors because there’s no stud behind it. I ended up with 2 holes in my wall and a shelf that hangs limply. It must ask for my money back1
NopeCheyenneIt’s part of the lack shelf system but mounts completely different from the longer shelves - making it near impossible to line up with them.
I’m sure they’re okay on their own (wobbly though), but don’t bother getting these if you expect them to line up with the longer versions. They won’t as they use their own weight to sit VS an inserted mount.1
Take this off sale!TsyganovskyiI’ve spent two hours struggling and still can’t manage to hang this ***t. 1
Shelves in TxLuisShelves are well made and the perfect size to display. Not to mention the price is great.5
Mounting system needs redesign for US homesZhanibekRedesign the mounting system for the North American market or include proper toggle bolts with round heads and spacers in the package.
The shelf itself looks nice, but the mounting system is a disaster.
My shelf fell off the wall when my cat jumped on it because regular drywall anchors don’t work properly with this design.1
Look great, easy installationChristopherLooks great, inexpensive but looks high-end, easy install. This small size perfect for odd spaces needing something.5
Lack "ing"Anonymous reviewerI have the medium lack shelve and love it so I purchased this small one. It doesn't hang the same and it's impossible to get it flush to wall.1
STANDARD IN US HOMESTarynThe standard for length between studs in the US are placed 16 inches apart on all walls. It can vary in older homes, but rarely would you find studs more than 24 inches apart. Windows and doors are also framed by studs for support. Above wide windows and doors, you might even find a wide header board. This clearly doesn’t each the standard. Being told to use dry wall screws to use a basic shelf by ikea is clearly something I don’t want to do. I want the shelf the be the length of US homes. Not to be told I can make additional purchases for things in prefer to hang up this shelf. I’m going to return it and take my business elsewhere. Stop telling me there’s additional things I can purchase to make this POS shelf worth my time.1
Waste of moneyTarynThese shelves do not reach the studs in the wall that are standard in all homes. They are too short. This was the biggest waste of money….1
Much bigger than anticipated StarI measured the area i was going to use this in, i thought they would be perfect, but they are just too big. And the anchor to adhere them to the wall seem a bit weak. So I bought some brackets for the shelf to sit on, and I'll use them in a bigger space, can't wait to see how it comes together l.4
