How do I shop online using a gift card or credit voucher?
You can use gift cards in all IKEA stores, in the restaurant, the bistro, and online. When shopping online, choose to pay with a gift card or credit voucher once you are in the shopping cart. If the gift card does not cover the full amount, you can pay the remaining balance using both gift cards and a payment card.
To pay online with a gift card or credit voucher, simply follow the steps below:
- Log in to the website using your IKEA Family account.
- Add all the products you want to purchase to your shopping cart and select “Proceed to checkout.”
- Choose your preferred delivery method and enter your details.
- At payment, select “Gift card” as your payment method and enter the gift card number and PIN, found on the back of the card, to complete the payment. For a credit voucher, use the code that was sent to your email.
If the card balance is not enough to cover the entire purchase, you can choose an alternative payment method for the remaining amount. Gift cards can only be combined with card payments, Swish, and IKEA Financing Loan.
You can also use your gift card or credit voucher at the checkout in your nearest IKEA store. If you have received assistance from a sales co-worker and want to pay with a gift card or credit voucher, please mention this when placing your order so the correct payment link is provided.
The balance on your gift card is updated automatically within approximately 4 hours.
Good to know
- Multiple gift cards or credit vouchers can be used for the same purchase – there is no limit.
- When you pay with a gift card or credit voucher, the full available balance on the card is automatically used for the purchase.
- You cannot choose to use only part of the balance.
- The only exception is when your purchase costs less than the balance on the card. In that case, only the amount needed is used and the remaining balance stays on the card.
Examples:
- Gift card: 500 SEK
Order value: 700 SEK – the full 500 SEK is used and you pay the remaining 200 SEK with another payment method. - Gift card: 500 SEK
Order value: 300 SEK – only 300 SEK is used and 200 SEK remains on the card.* - Gift card: 500 SEK
Order value: 1,000 SEK – the full 500 SEK is used and you cannot choose to use, for example, only 200 SEK.
