What does an IKEA kitchen planning appointment look like?
During your kitchen planning appointment, you’ll review your measurements, discuss your needs, and receive help choosing products together with one of our kitchen specialists. Please remember to prepare for your appointment, and reschedule or cancel it if your plans change.
- Before you book: To get the most out of your planning appointment, we recommend preparing beforehand. Get inspired by browsing our kitchen styles online and, most importantly, measure your kitchen space. Accurate measurements are the crucial first step to a successful plan. You should also consider your needs, make a list of your kitchen dreams, and note any challenges you’d like to discuss with the kitchen specialist.
- Book your appointment: When you’re ready, simply book your appointment online.
- Confirmation of your booked appointment: You will receive a confirmation of your chosen time by email, along with further instructions on how to prepare for your appointment. These instructions will vary depending on where and when the appointment takes place.
- Rescheduling or cancellation: If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please try to do so at least 24 hours in advance by using the reschedule or cancel button found in your confirmation email. If you cannot find this button in the email, you can reschedule or cancel your appointment by contacting us.
- Preparing for your appointment: Please bring your kitchen measurements, any inspirational ideas or images you’ve collected, and your list of kitchen dreams and challenges. If you’ve already started a design in the IKEA kitchen planner, have your plan number or login details ready so that we can access it quickly and easily.
- During your appointment: An IKEA kitchen specialist will:
- The result of your visit: At the end of the appointment, you will receive a complete package that includes a 3D design of your new kitchen, a full product list, and support with a preliminary price estimate for your kitchen and any services needed to get it in place. Your kitchen design will be saved to your IKEA account, so you can access it at any time. When you’re ready, we can also help you place the order but we’re happy to give you time to reflect on your purchase, and we can book a follow‑up appointment to complete the order at a later date.
