What is a diffusion barrier?
A diffusion barrier protects your countertop from moisture from the dishwasher, which is why correct placement is important. The diffusion barrier must rise a few millimeters at the front to cover the seam on the underside of the countertop.
A diffusion barrier is extra protection that is mounted on the underside of the countertop when installing a dishwasher.
It should also be used when installing an oven or combination oven in a base cabinet.
All our dishwashers come with a diffusion barrier, except for SÖDERBODA and LAGAN, freestanding dishwashers. There are different types of diffusion barriers, but they all have the same function and provide the same protection - just be sure to follow the installation instructions carefully.
