  • Place the food in the baskets, preferably with wax paper or baking paper in the bottom.

    Use the bamboo steamer with a wide frying pan or wok that you fill with water. The water must not reach the bottom of the basket.

    Choose a pot with a diameter slightly smaller than the steamer.

    Comprises: 2 baskets (dia. 23 cm) and 1 lid (dia. 23 cm).

    Allow the steamer to air dry before storing it away.

    Bamboo is a natural fibre that might change colour over time.

    Wash and dry this product before using it for the first time.

  • Be careful so you don’t get hot steam on you.Make sure there is always water under the steamer since it can damage the cookware if the water boils dry.When removing the lid from the bamboo steamer, be careful not to burn yourself on the hot steam being released.Use only one steamer with two baskets, do not stack more baskets on each other.

Material

What is bamboo?

Strong, flexible and one of the world's fastest growing plants – bamboo has many uses that make it an excellent renewable material. It’s a type of grass and usually grows without the need for fertilizers or irrigation. After being harvested, it grows new shoots that are ready for harvesting after 4-6 years. At IKEA we use bamboo for items like furniture, bathroom decor, baskets and lamps – and we are constantly exploring more areas of use for this versatile material.
