I'm experiencing issues paying by card at the online checkout.

If you are experiencing issues checking out with your credit card online, try these troubleshooting steps.

Is there an identity issue?
Please check you are not using a VPN or have any IP address masking active. These tools can trigger fraud alerts. If you have shopped with us recently online using a different credit card or multiple delivery addresses, this may also cause issue– if you are shopping for a multi-site business, please reach out to our IKEA for Business team for support.

Are you local and using a local card?
We can only sell to customers located in New Zealand, and purchases using cards from some countries are restricted. We recommend you use a New Zealand issued credit card, or check-out using PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Are there restrictions on your card?
Some cards, especially company cards, may have restrictions on online purchases, including blocks, or lower purchase limits. If it is a personal card, you may be able to temporarily adjust these settings through your card issuer. For company cards, please reach out to your company card account manager.

Are your details entered correctly on your order?
The details provided on your order, including your name and invoice address may be used by your card issuer as part of the payment verification. Please ensure your name and invoice address are entered correctly in full.

Ensure you have a stable and secure internet connection.
Poor connection or disruptions can stop the payment from processing. We recommend you use the latest Chrome or Edge browser. If you are using a different browser, try switching to the above. Try clearing your cache and cookies.

Check browser pop-ups are not blocked.
Our checkout uses 3D-Secure technology which will pop-up an input form from your card issuer for a one-time code.

Confirm your card is enabled for 3D-Secure verification
All IKEA online card transactions will trigger a 3DS verification such as Verified by Visa, Mastercard SecureCode or American Express SafeKey. Dependent on your card issuer you may receive a banking app notification, SMS or email. Ensure your details are up to date with your card issuer or contact your card issuer for further support.
3D-Secure is a protocol (set of rules) that provides extra protection for customers making online payments. After submitting your credit card details, a prompt may appear, initiated by your card issuer, that you will need to enter a one-time code on.
