What are the general delivery restrictions and requirements?
Most IKEA products can be delivered, but they cannot be delivered to P.O. Boxes, unsafe locations, or to addresses outside [country]. Delivery availability depends on your location, order size, and product type, as some fragile, oversized, or seasonal items may have restrictions. To ensure a smooth delivery, provide accurate address details and any relevant access instructions when placing your order.
Delivery accessibility: All delivery methods require there to be adequate, clear and safe space available. Any delivery details will need to be provided at the time of booking.
- For residential apartments or homes with multiple levels, the delivery driver can only attempt delivery up to the third level of the building, and elevator access is required for any additional levels.
- Deliveries are unable to be made to P.O. Box addresses or any addresses which are deemed to have unsafe access (such as worksites for incomplete residential or commercial premises).
Eligible items: Most IKEA products are eligible for delivery, some of our articles are limited to in-store purchase only. These eligible items can include fragile items such as glassware and mirrors, oversized articles, seasonal items, live plants and articles sold in our Swedish Food Market. To see whether an item you are interested in is available for delivery, search the article on the IKEA website and check the ‘How to Get’ tab on the product page.
Delivery locations: IKEA can deliver products purchased in [country] to addresses within [country] only. At the moment, international delivery from IKEA [country] is not available. It is currently not possible to deliver to any islands, except for [specific island]. To see what delivery options are available for you, visit the product page of the item you wish to buy on IKEA.com, and add your address details under the 'Accessibility' section. If you're ordering several items, you can also check what delivery methods are available to you at checkout. Please note that IKEA products cannot be transferred from one IKEA store to another.
Order value: There is a minimum order value of XX for parcel deliveries and XX for truck deliveries (insert market-specific order value limitations). Some products also require a certain number of items to be delivered. The delivery options available for you will be automatically selected at checkout depending on your order value, size and number of items.
Accurate information: You will be asked to specify the delivery location and provide any additional delivery instructions to support with a successful service. This information can include parking instructions, access restrictions, and building access notes.
This delivery option is best if you prefer the flexibility of not committing to an in-home service, as these orders are delivered to the front door of your home or building/foyer if you live in apartment. 'Authority to Leave' is automatically applied to your order, meaning the delivery driver will leave your order in a safe and secure location if you’re not at home.
To use this service, add your desired items to your cart, choose 'Home Delivery' at checkout and select the 'To the Door Delivery' option. Provide accurate delivery details and confirm your order. You'll receive a confirmation email and SMS with delivery details, and on delivery day, ensure clear access and that someone over 18 is present. If you notice any issues (such as missing or damaged items), inform the driver on site and contact IKEA customer support.
