How does «Curbside delivery» work?

With «Curbside delivery», we place your items at the first available spot outside your door, for example, by the curb, staircase, or property line. A person over 18 years old must be present to receive and sign for the delivery.


How to order
  • Add your items to your shopping bag and select «Curbside delivery» at checkout.
  • If you are logged in as an IKEA Family member, you automatically get a reduced delivery price. Not a member? Join IKEA Family here
  • Choose the date and time slot that suits you best. (Availability may vary where you live.)
  • Fill in your address and specifications for the delivery, including home type and any obstacles for the truck. (If the road is not passable, we deliver where the truck can stop.)
  • Is there anything specific the driver should know? Enter any parking options or other small details that could make the delivery easier.
  • Pay and confirm your order. Then you're done, and we'll take care of the rest!

After placing your order
  • You will receive an order confirmation from us by email.
  • Please do a quick check to ensure all information is correct – such as your delivery address and the items you have ordered.

Change order (add/remove items)
  • We can change your order for you as long as we have not started picking your items or sent the order to production.
  • Any price differences are easily settled (paid/refunded).
  • Remember that changes can affect both delivery time and price, but we will help you find the best solution.

Change delivery time
  • You can easily change the delivery time yourself, either on «My Purchases» (if you are an IKEA Family member) or via «Track and Change Order». Just remember to do this up to 2 working days before planned delivery.
  • Later changes: May incur a fee of 50% of the delivery price.
  • Postponement over 5 days: Costs 150,- per day in warehouse rent from day 6. Invoice will be sent afterwards.

Cancellation
  • You can cancel the order free of charge on «My Purchases» or via «Track your order» before picking/production has started.
  • After start-up: A cancellation fee of 50% of the delivery price will apply.
  • Custom-ordered countertops and wall panels: Upon cancellation, 50% of the product price is refunded.

Need help with changes?
If you cannot change it yourself, the order has proceeded in the system. Contact us, and we will be happy to help you!

On delivery day
  • Before delivery, the carrier will contact you so you know exactly when we are on our way.
  • You will receive a tracking link via SMS, so you can follow your order in real-time.
  • We will send an SMS with an update on when we expect to be with you.
  • Should anything unexpected happen, the driver will contact you at the phone number you provided.
  • When we arrive, the carrier will contact you before the items are delivered.

Important things to remember for a smooth delivery
  • For everything to go smoothly, make sure the truck can get all the way to your address.
  • The items are delivered to the first available spot, for example, curb, staircase, or property line.
