Considering the current situation with the COVID-19 virus, at IKEA we want to make sure that everyone is safe - our customers, service providers and coworkers.

Protocol for visiting IKEA Oceanía

To ensure that anyone entering Oceania does not pose a potential risk of transmitting COVID-19 to others and to detect possible positive cases, a security filter is implemented.

For entry access, the following measures will be applied:

  • Disinfection mats at each entrance.
  • Antibacterial gel available at several points in the store.
  • Thermometer (anyone with a temperature above 37.5° will not be allowed to enter and will be advised to see a physician for further evaluation to assess if they have severe symptoms of COVID-19).
  • Sanitizing wipes in the restaurant and in the cart area for customers to clean their carts.
  • The queue to enter Oceania requires a minimum distance of 1.50 meters between visitors and such distance will be marked on the floor.

Furniture delivery and assembly protocol

Learn about our provider's safety practices for furniture delivery and assembly services.

  1. Upon arrival at the point of delivery, the provider will perform hand disinfection and put on gloves and a face mask.
  2. The assembly team will ask the customers to complete the health declaration form prior to entry.
  3. They will bring the products to the room selected by the customer (with at least two meters of distance between them), provide an explanation about the contact-free assembly and request the customer's acceptance.
  4. The team will request the customer to leave the room before starting the assembly procedure.
  5. The products will be assembled and placed in the location requested by the customer.
  6. The products will be cleaned with disinfectant wipes/spray after assembly.

These measures in no way mean any kind of discrimination, because at IKEA we do not discriminate anyone, we simply care about your health and that of your loved ones, as well as that of our employees and providers of assembly services that may come into contact with you.
