Terms and conditions of sale and installation service of kitchens SEKTION, KNOXHULT
Ikano Retail México, S.A. de C.V. (hereinafter "IKEA Mexico"), with address at Calle Oriente 158, número 440, Piso 3, Local JD-01, Colonia Moctezuma, Segunda Sección, Alcaldía Venustiano Carranza, C.P. 15500, Ciudad de México, is the company that provides the installation service of SEKTION, KNOXHULT kitchens ("Kitchens") in the physical stores of IKEA Mexico located in the United Mexican States (the "Stores") and that offers the Installation Service of the Kitchens.
The Consumer declares that he/she is over 18 years of age and has sufficient legal capacity in Mexican territory to enter into and abide by these Terms and Conditions.
In the case of legal entities, the individuals acting in their name and on their behalf guarantee to IKEA Mexico or any of its subordinates that they have sufficient representation on behalf of their principal at the time of making the purchase and guarantee that at the time of making the transaction they are not violating the rights of any third party in this regard and that the data and information they provide are truthful, accurate and reliable.
The Consumer undertakes to provide truthful information about the data requested for the provision of the SEKTION, KNOXHULT kitchen installation service and to keep them up to date.
IKEA Mexico reserves the right to change or modify these Terms and Conditions, any policies related to the sale and installation of SEKTION, KNOXHULT kitchens and related services (such as: Interior Design Service, Planning Service, Measuring Service and Transportation Service "Related Services"), without prior notice, at any time, in its sole discretion and without notice. Any changes or modifications will be effective immediately upon posting on https://www.ikea.com/mx (the "Website"), and you hereby waive any right to receive notice of such changes or modifications by any means other than through the Website.
By making the corresponding payment, the Consumer declares that he/she has read, understands and accepts these terms and conditions of sale and installation service of SEKTION, KNOXHULT kitchens and their related services, which may have been purchased at IKEA Mexico stores or remotely from IKEA Mexico.
The provision of the corresponding Service is subject to be provided according to the availability of the same before, during and after the purchase.
The SEKTION, KNOXHULT Kitchen Installation Service only applies to SEKTION and KNOXHULT kitchens sold by IKEA Mexico and purchased by the Consumer in any of IKEA Mexico's sales channels.
Kitchen Installation Services may be provided in Mexico City and metropolitan area, Consumers may consult the area directly at IKEA Mexico Stores (Planning Area of IKEA Mexico Stores) or at the Customer Service Center. The hours in which such services may be provided will be Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Consumers should check the opening hours at IKEA.mx or at the Customer Service Center.
When ordering the SEKTION, KNOXHULT Kitchen Installation Service, the Consumer must contract the following services:
Planning Service or Interior Design Service 1
Transportation Service2, and
Measurement Services

The Consumer shall contract the Planning or Interior Design Service:
a) Interior Design Service: in this service the Consumer will design in detail his/her kitchen. The Consumer should send an email to [email protected] to request information about this service and be provided with the cost of the service. If accepted by the Consumer, the details of the service and the cost of the same, the Planner will deliver to the Consumer a Purchase Order for the Interior Design Service, which can be paid in Store or through a secure payment link that will be provided by the Planner. Said Purchase Order must be paid for by the Consumer on the same day it was issued, within the Store's opening hours, even in the case of the payment link, if your payment link expires, please request a new one from the Planner who is assisting you.
The Consumer will confirm the payment to the Glider by e-mail to the addresses provided by the Glider, including [email protected], the Glider will send to the Consumer the link for the virtual appointment and will confirm the date and time of the appointment as indicated by the Consumer, the Consumer will only have 10 minutes of tolerance to join the virtual appointment, if the Consumer does not show up the appointment will be considered as given and no refund of any amount paid by the Consumer will be made.
The Consumer shall only have the right to reschedule his/her appointment at least 24 hours prior to the date and time of his/her appointment. In no event will a refund of any amount paid by the Consumer for the appointment be made.

b) Planning Service: In this service, the Consumer with the help of the planner will design the kitchen at a basic level and only IKEA Mexico planning tools published on IKEA.mx may be used. The Consumer must schedule an appointment through IKEA.mx. An IKEA.mx planner will contact the consumer and send the Consumer the link to the virtual appointment, the Consumer will only have 10 minutes tolerance time to join the virtual appointment, if the Consumer does not show up the appointment will be considered cancelled and the Consumer will have to schedule a new appointment.
The Consumer shall only have the right to reschedule his/her appointment at least 24 hours prior to the date and time of his/her appointment. In no event will a refund of any amount paid by the Consumer for the appointment be made

For any of the aforementioned services, the Planner will provide the Consumer with a quotation1 and the corresponding design of the Kitchen.
If confirmed by the Consumer, the Glider will provide the Consumer with a Purchase Order for the Metering Service which may be paid in the Shop or through a secure payment link provided by the Glider. Said Purchase Order must be paid by the Consumer on the same day it was issued, within the Store's opening hours to the public, even in the case of the payment link, if your payment link expires, please request a new one to the Glider that is serving you.
The Consumer will confirm to the Glider the completion of the payment by e-mail to the addresses provided by the Glider, including [email protected], the Glider will confirm by the same means the date and time of the appointment for the Measurement Service.

This service consists of IKEA Mexico personnel ("Installer") going to the address indicated by the Consumer in the Purchase Order issued by IKEA Mexico, on the date and time agreed upon by the Consumer to:
- Take the definitive measurements of the place where the kitchen will be placed.
- Verify that the property complies with the technical characteristics necessary for the installation of the Kitchen as indicated in the corresponding section of these terms and conditions.
- The Installer will provide the Consumer with the characteristics that the property must meet in order for the Cooktop Installation Service to be provided.
Once the Measuring Service has been provided, within 2 working days, the Glider will issue a final1 quotation to the Consumer, if accepted by the Consumer, the Glider will issue a Purchase Order, such Purchase Order will contain the products to be purchased for the Kitchen, as well as the cost for the2 Delivery Service of the same in which the date and block of time in which these may be delivered will be indicated. This Purchase Order may be paid by the Consumer at the Store or through a secure payment link provided by the Planner. Said Purchase Order must be paid by the Consumer on the same day it was issued within the Store's opening hours, even in the case of the payment link.

Once the Consumer has received all of the products purchased for the Kitchen, the Consumer will confirm to the Glider via email to the addresses provided by the Glider, including [email protected], that the Consumer has received all of the products purchased for the Kitchen.
The Planner will confirm with the Consumer whether or not he/she wishes to contract the Cooktop Installation Service, if so, the Planner will provide the Consumer with a Purchase Order for the Cooktop Installation Service which may be paid in the Store or through a secure payment link provided by the Planner. Said Purchase Order must be paid by the Consumer on the same day it was issued, within the Store's opening hours, even in the case of the payment link, if your payment link expires, please request a new one to the Scheduler who is assisting you.
The Consumer will confirm payment to the Planner by e-mail to the addresses provided by the Planner, including [email protected], the Planner will confirm the date and time of the appointment for the Cooking Installation Service as indicated by the Consumer, in such e-mail the Planner will reiterate to the Consumer that the Consumer must comply with the conditions indicated by the Installer in the appointment for the Measuring Service.
The Installer shall appear at the Consumer's address indicated in the Purchase Order on the date and time agreed upon for the provision of the Cooktop Installation Service:
- The Installer will only wait at the home for a maximum of 30 minutes in which case the Consumer will have to reschedule a new appointment for the Cooktop Installation Service, upon payment of the corresponding rescheduling fee, each rescheduling will have a cost to be covered by the Consumer.
- For the rescheduling mentioned in the previous paragraph, the Consumer will contact the Glider by e-mail to the addresses provided by the Glider, including [email protected], the Glider will notify the rescheduling cost and will deliver to the Consumer a Purchase Order for the rescheduling appointment which may be paid in the Store or through a secure payment link provided by the Glider. Said Purchase Order must be paid by the Consumer on the same day it was issued, within the Store's opening hours to the public, even in the case of the payment link, if your payment link expires, please request a new one from the Scheduler who is assisting you. The Consumer will confirm to the Planner the completion of the payment by e-mail to the addresses provided by the Planner, including [email protected], the Planner will confirm by the same means the date and time of the appointment for the Cooktop Installation Service.
- At the beginning of the Cookstove Installation Service, the Installer shall verify that the Consumer has complied with all the conditions that have been notified in the appointment of the Measuring Service, if such conditions have not been met, the Installer shall notify the Consumer of this fact and shall not be able to provide the Measuring Service, and shall proceed to withdraw from the home.
- In this case the Consumer may: reschedule a new appointment for the Cooktop Installation Service, upon payment of the corresponding rescheduling fee, each rescheduling will have a cost to be covered by the Consumer.
- For the rescheduling mentioned in the previous paragraph, the Consumer will contact the Glider by e-mail to the addresses provided by the Glider, including [email protected], the Glider will notify the rescheduling cost and will provide the Consumer with a Purchase Order for the Rescheduled Appointment which may be paid in the Store or through a secure payment link provided by the Glider. Said Purchase Order must be paid by the Consumer on the same day it was issued, within the Store's opening hours, even in the case of the payment link, if your payment link expires, please request a new one from the Scheduler who is assisting you. The Consumer will confirm to the Planner the completion of the payment by e-mail to the addresses provided by the Planner, including [email protected], the Planner will confirm by the same means the date and time of the appointment for the Kitchen Installation Service.
- In this case only, if the Consumer decides not to reschedule the appointment and therefore cancels the Cooktop Installation Service, only 50% of the cost paid for the Cooktop Installation Service will be refundable. The Consumer will notify the Planner of this decision and the Planner will proceed with the refund of the Purchase Order paid by the Consumer in the same method of payment with which the payment was made. Your card issuing bank may take an average of 15 days to credit your account. Please consult the terms applicable to this type of transaction, as well as the follow-up of the process directly with your issuing bank.
When the Kitchen Installation Service and Countertop Installation Service are contracted, the installation will be complete once our installation team returns to the home to connect the appliances and sink/drainer (provided they are from IKEA Mexico), up to one day after the installation of the countertop by the Marble Mason.
Only appliances sold by IKEA Mexico will be installed; if the Consumer has any appliances purchased from another store, whether new or used, they must be installed by someone other than IKEA Mexico.
At the end of the Cooktop Installation Service, the Consumer must sign the service acceptance form.
On the day the Measuring Service is provided, IKEA Mexico will agree with the Consumer the details of the Kitchen installation, including possible reinforcements or changes to the walls and installations that the Consumer must make in order for IKEA Mexico to provide the Kitchen Installation Service. Prior to performing the Kitchen Installation Service, the Consumer must have completed all necessary work in the space where the kitchen will be installed in order to perform the work properly and to ensure the safety of the service.
The space must be free of any previously installed stove, furniture or object (e.g., disassemble the stove or any existing furniture, if there is equipment such as a boiler that could interfere with the installation, it must also be disassembled by the Consumer prior to installation) since no maneuvers will be carried out to rearrange objects that could be obstructing the installation area.
All finishes in ceilings, walls and floors must be finished in the space where the kitchen will be installed prior to the installation. Also the electrical, hydraulic, sanitary and gas installations must be finished according to the requirements of the kitchen design.
The following are the prerequisites for installation:
Works to be carried out:
- The work must be completed.
- Smooth and level walls with the finished and completely dry finish.
- Level floor with level finish.
- The baseboard should not be more than 7 cm high; if it is higher, the customer must remove it.
- If there is a concrete base (support) it must be demolished by the customer. If the base is not intended to be removed, it is not suitable for assembly.
- If the floor has a radiant heating system, it will not be possible to fix the furniture on an island or peninsula, in this case it will be fixed with a mounting kit or similar.
- If the corner where a corner unit is to be installed is not at 90°, it will not be possible to install a corner corner unit (88x88 cm), the solution is to install a 128 cm corner unit with an adjustment.
- Windows in the kitchen should have a minimum sill of 110 cm from the floor.
- If there are tiles or any other finish in bad condition, these must be repaired by the client.
- The minimum height to the ceiling must be 210 cms.If there is a soffit, it must be finished at least up to the first coat of paint.
- If the finish on the ceiling is plaster or any other finish that involves splashing, it must be completely finished and dry before beginning the kitchen installation.
- If the wall where the kitchen will be installed is made of gypsum board, it must be reinforced (see "Annex for reinforcement of gypsum board walls"). If the wall is not intended to be reinforced, it is not suitable for installation.
Plumbing installations:
- Disconnection and connection of gas at customer's expense.
- The gas inlet must be accessible and at most 70 cms from the floor.
- If the gas pipe is exposed, it will pass through the socket at a maximum of 7 cm from the floor.
- The hot and cold water inlets of the sink must have angle control valves installed at 65 cms from the floor and with the thread facing upwards.
- The distance between water intakes should not be less than 10 cm.
- PVC drain 2" diameter not less than 45 cm high with 90° elbow.
- Connections for the dishwasher can be made inside the sink cabinet. A separate angle control faucet will be required or a double faucet will have to be placed on the cold water inlet at the customer's expense.
- If the shaft of the washing machine is 60 cm or more away from the drain, the customer will extend the plug, water inlets and drain at his own expense.
- For safety reasons, there must be a minimum distance of 30 cm between the water, drain and electricity outlets and they must not be located behind the appliance.
Electricity:
- All electrical installations must be completed and installed by qualified personnel, according to current regulations.
- The installation must be grounded.
- The washing machine/dishwasher outlet should be 65 cms from the floor.
- The refrigerator plug must be 65 or 120 cms from the ground, the cable must be cal. 14 (3x2.5mm).
- The oven connection should be 65 or 65 cms from the ground, the cable according to the manufacturer's specifications, usually 12 gauge (3x4mm).
- The connection for an electric grill should be 65 cms from the ground, the cable according to the manufacturer's specifications, usually 10 gauge (3x6mm).
- The connection for the microwave at 165 from the floor or depending on the location in the kitchen, the cable must be cal. 14 (3x2.5mm).
- Sockets for lighting of tall furniture should be according to the type of lighting desired, at a height of 160, 190 or 230 cms from the floor.
- Sockets for low furniture lighting shall be 65 cms from the floor.
- The socket for the hood should be located on the shaft 190 cm from the ground, unless otherwise indicated in the hood manual.
Bell installations:
- If the hood requires a structure to support it (e.g. on an island), the assembly of the structure is at the customer's expense.
- In hoods with extraction system, the installation of the flue pipe must be previously carried out according to the product's manual, to be provided by the customer.
The Kitchen Installation Service will be available only for SEKTION, KNOXHULT kitchens purchased at IKEA Mexico stores and only in Mexico City and the metropolitan area1, therefore, IKEA Mexico reserves the right to extend or restrict this service to the cities it deems convenient.
During the Cooktop Installation Service, the Consumer shall ensure that no furniture or kitchen is located in the place where the installation will be performed, therefore, it is the Consumer's responsibility to keep the area clear. The Service Provider shall not be obliged to uninstall or move any object that hinders or impedes the provision of the Kitchen Installation Service (e.g. moving equipment or furniture).
For the SEKTION Kitchen Installation Service, KNOXHULT will ask the Consumer to provide the following data:
- Full name
- Address
- Contact telephone number
- E-mail address
All data provided by the Consumer to IKEA Mexico will be treated in accordance with the Privacy Notice that IKEA Mexico has at its disposal on the Website and that the Consumer declares to know, to have read and to agree with before contracting the service.
The Cooking Installation Service will be provided at the address indicated for such purpose by the Consumer.
In the event that the information provided by the Consumer is incorrect or inaccurate, IKEA Mexico may contact the Consumer by telephone and/or e-mail.
The Consumer declares that the information provided is correct and that the place of delivery meets the physical conditions of sufficient accessibility (size of doors, stairs, etc.) to perform the installation of the kitchen.Therefore, whether for the delivery of the purchased Kitchen or for the performance of the Kitchen Installation Service and/or any of the Related Services, the Consumer must ensure that the address where the Kitchen will be delivered or installed has the necessary permits to deliver the Kitchen manually. If applicable, the Consumer must notify IKEA Mexico if the address where the Kitchen will be installed requires any special maneuvers, such as, for example, lifting furniture, since IKEA Mexico will not be responsible for lifting any product (using mechanisms such as cranes, levers or ropes to lift the furniture outside or inside the building) in order to introduce it into the address indicated by the Consumer, nor will it be responsible for removing doors or door frames to fit the furniture, nor for any other activity that is not expressly included in the Purchase Order and in these terms and conditions.
The Kitchen Installation Service must always be carried out in the presence of the Customer or authorized person. If the Consumer is not present at the time of the installation team's visit, the personnel who will provide the Kitchen Installation Service will contact the IKEA Mexico Customer Service Center, and the Customer Service Center will contact the Consumer to request the Consumer to indicate the name of the authorized person in front of whom the aforementioned services will be provided.
At the time of the provision of the Kitchen Installation Service, the Consumer or authorized person will be asked to identify himself/herself with an official identification.
The time periods indicated in this document are estimates. Any modification to these will be notified to the Consumer. In case of health emergency, curfew or any other similar situation that limits the free transit of goods through the national territory, the Consumer will be notified of such situation either to extend the delivery time or, if applicable, to modify the day and time of delivery; for such purposes, the Consumer may track the status of his order at the Customer Service Center.
Neither the Kitchen Installation Service nor its related services, include modifications or adjustments to the surface or infrastructure of the building where the service will be provided. The service provider shall not be obliged to uninstall or move any object that hinders or impedes the provision of the services (for example, move furniture of any size such as armchairs, refrigerators, remove shelves, elements fixed to the wall, door or window frames, etc.).
The service provider shall remove the packaging and any other garbage generated during the service from the address where the service was provided.
If at the time of service provision, the Consumer does not comply with any of the conditions set forth herein, the service provider may refuse to provide the service without liability for IKEA Mexico and the service shall be deemed provided, so that if the Consumer still requires the service, he/she must hire it again, making the corresponding payment and, if applicable, must contact the Glider by email to the addresses that the Glider has provided, including [email protected], or otherwise with the Customer Service Center Customer Service Center.

Upon payment of the corresponding Purchase Order issued by IKEA Mexico, the Consumer may not cancel the purchase of the Kitchen or the Kitchen Installation Service or related services (such as: Interior Design Service, Transportation Service, Measuring Service).
Only rescheduling of appointments will proceed, each rescheduling will have a cost to be covered by the Consumer. The Consumer will contact the Glider by e-mail to the addresses provided by the Glider, including [email protected], the Glider will notify the Consumer of the rescheduling cost and will provide the Consumer with a Purchase Order for the Rescheduling of Appointments which may be paid in Store or through a secure payment link provided by the Glider. Said Purchase Order must be paid by the Consumer on the same day it was issued, within the Store's opening hours to the public, even in the case of the payment link, if your payment link expires, please request a new one to the Scheduler who is assisting you.
Only in the case mentioned in the Kitchen Installation Service may the Kitchen Installation Service be cancelled, in which case only 50% of the cost paid for the Kitchen Installation Service will be refundable.
In any case, you will be able to communicate with the Glider by e-mail to the addresses provided by the Glider, including [email protected], or alternatively with the Customer Service Center so that they can support you if possible.
Important: applicable rescheduling may not exceed 60 calendar days from the date of payment of the corresponding purchase order. If this period is exceeded, the Consumer must pay the applicable cost adjustment, which will be communicated to the Consumer by Planeador or the Customer Service Center, or otherwise, IKEA Mexico will proceed with the cancellation and will only reimburse the corresponding amount expressly stated in these terms and conditions.
The Consumer shall have 180 calendar days of warranty from the date on which the service was rendered, to make it effective under the following terms and conditions:
The same shall only be in respect of the SEKTION, KNOXHULT Kitchen Installation Service provided and shall only cover the following:
i. Installation service of kitchens, bathrooms, faucets and accessories exclusively from IKEA.
ii. Bathroom installation service exclusively from IKEA.
iii. Installation service faucets and accessories exclusively from IKEA.
iv. The same shall not apply to IKEA items damaged at origin or during transportation even if the same has been contracted to IKEA Mexico, in which case the Return Policy shall apply.
v. PTo enforce the Kitchen Installation Service warranty, the Consumer must contact IKEA Mexico through the Customer Service Center or in-store at the After Sales area).
Such warranty shall not be applicable in those cases where the installed goods were not used in accordance with their normal conditions of use, if they were used for industrial and non-domestic purposes or if the use given to such goods was notoriously or excessively irregular, abusive or unusual.
The price of each of the services mentioned here, as well as of the extra items, will be published in IKEA Mexico Stores and may be consulted at the Customer Service Center.
The Consumer shall pay the amount contained in the purchase order, such payment must be in full and may be made in:
- IKEA Mexico Stores: at the checkout area of IKEA Mexico Stores during the hours they are open to the public, using the payment methods supported by IKEA Mexico at those locations. Through a secure payment link. This payment link accepts the following payment methods: a) Debit card and b) Credit card. Purchases may only be made with cards issued in the United Mexican States.
- Secure Payment Link: The payment link is administered by Adyen Mexico, S.A. de C.V., therefore, IKEA Mexico does not store, process, share or transfer Consumer banking information. IKEA Mexico has entered into an agreement with Adyen Mexico, S.A. de C.V., in which it has agreed that it will implement best practices and measures to protect Consumer information; however, IKEA Mexico encourages Consumers to make good use of their confidential information, and if there are any questions about the security of the payment gateway, they may direct their questions to the IKEA Mexico Customer Service Center. IKEA Mexico will not be responsible for any failure of the payment gateway.
Upon satisfactory completion of the transaction, a transaction receipt will be issued, describing: a) the Consumer's information; b) the products and/services purchased; c) date of payment; d) place and date of delivery of the goods; and e) in general, any information related to the transaction.
Consumers may request invoicing of the transaction within 30 calendar days from the date the transaction was made, in the portal that IKEA Mexico makes available to the Consumer for such purposes on the Website.
IKEA Mexico is responsible for collecting, storing, retaining, managing and deciding on the processing of Consumers' personal data, for which it makes available its Privacy Notice. IKEA Mexico asks its Consumers to review the Privacy Notice before providing their personal data.
The personal data provided will be used for the purposes of providing services, providing a better service to the Consumer, making quality evaluations, as well as providing promotional information from IKEA Mexico. IKEA Mexico's Privacy Notice can be consulted at: https://ikea.mx/
In case of any questions, requests, complaints and claims or on any point that is not included in these terms and conditions, the IKEA Mexico Customer Care Center can be consulted. The Consumer may contact the IKEA Mexico Customer Service Center through the following means:

In the case of procedures, notifications of any authority in matters of consumer protection, the applicable address will be located at Calle Oriente 158, número 440, Piso 3, Local JD-01, Colonia Moctezuma, Segunda Sección, Alcaldía Venustiano Carranza, C.P. 15500, Ciudad de México.
As a result of the health emergency caused by COVID 19, IKEA Mexico will prioritize the attention to consumers through digital mechanisms previously established, so consumers are invited to use the email and phone number previously identified.
All notices, information or communications that IKEA Mexico intends to share with the Consumer will be made directly to the email and/or telephone number provided by the Consumer at the time of the transaction.
In the event of any dispute arising out of the application or interpretation of these terms and conditions, IKEA Mexico and the Consumer shall submit to the conciliation procedure of the competent Federal Consumer Protection Attorney's Office or to the jurisdiction of the courts of Mexico City, waiving any other jurisdiction, present or future, that may correspond to them due to their address or any other cause.
