Why are there so many availability problems?
We are thankful that our customers choose IKEA to make their dream home possible. The high number of orders combined with port congestion due to Covid-19 has caused many articles to be out of stock.
How come other retailers can deliver what they promise but IKEA can’t?
Every retailer works with different manufacturing and logistic processes, currently all our products are imported to Mexico, therefore their arrival takes a bit longer.
We are implementing extraordinary actions to expedite and normalize the supply chain, so that we can offer you more options, however, this process will take some months to show results.
How long will it take until the situation is back to normal?
We are working hard to meet your needs and get the situation back to normal as soon as possible. However, we have dependencies on external factors, and we can´t give you an exact date.
When will certain products be available again?
We constantly receive new shipments and products. These arrive randomly but the best way to check availability is by visiting our website or contacting us for more details.
How can I know when a product is available in the store?
The easiest way to confirm availability is by clicking in the article of your interest and check the stock online or in our store, you can do this by reviewing the information below the price of the article.
My product was available when I looked online but when I came to the store it was gone. Why?
We try to update our stock more frequently to avoid any difference, however availability can change from when is reviewed online to the moment you visit the store.
If products are not available, why are you still advertising them online/social media?
We try our best to only advertise products that you can buy, however, our stock availability changes rapidly and some of the products are sold very fast, causing that you can't complete your purchase.
Why I was able to buy a product online if it is not available?
Our ambition is to that our website only allows to buy products that are available, unfortunately due to quality, logistic or stock issues sometimes this is not possible. When this happens, we will contact you according to our terms and conditions to offer you the best alternative.
I need help, how can I speak to someone?
We have different contact channels to support you. We will try to answer as fast as we can, but due to the high number of contacts it may take a bit longer to serve you. Please be patient.
Why didn´t my order arrive on the agreed day?
Our commitment is to honour the delivery date that you chose, in case there is an extraordinary situation that may put this in risk, we will try to contact you to inform all the details and alternatives.

My order has not arrived when planned. Why can´'t customer service tell me when my order will be delivered or where my order is?
If your order has any type of issue, we will make a thorough investigation to get all the details so that we can inform you properly. If a follow up call is needed, we will make sure we give you a solution.
An article has not been available for a long time, is it going to be removed from the range?
Due to all the modifications and challenges in our supply chain because of Covid-19, some products have been out of stock for a long period of time now. This does not mean that they will be removed from the range, the supply will eventually normalize and you will be available to buy them.
Why do you rely on other countries to supply the products? Why can’t you source locally instead?
At IKEA we want to create a better everyday life for the many people. That means being affordable for everyone. We've had strong collaborations with our suppliers for decades in designing, planning, and producing with us.
Many of these suppliers are located in different countries, we are working together with them to overcome the supply challenges without compromising safety and compliance.
Can I pre order a product that is not available now?
Because we do not have an exact arrival date of our products, this is not possible today. We are working hard so that the waiting times are lower, and you can buy what you need, when you need it.
