The air purifier can be set to auto mode, which means that it automatically detects the particles (PM2.5) in the air and then adjusts the fan speed, so you can think about other things.
Make the most of STARKVIND in the IKEA Home smart app using DIRIGERA hub. Adjust fan speed, check current air quality status, set timers and create scenes with your other smart home products.
You can sleep with the air purifier on since it is very quiet at the lower fan speeds. If connected to the IKEA Home smart app, you can also turn the LED light off on the unit when going to sleep.
Easy to move between different rooms thanks to the integrated handle.

The air purifier comes with a particle filter so it purifies the air from various particles as efficiently as possible. You can also buy a gas filter and use the two filters together.
This product is part of our smart home range. Connect it, along with other smart products, to DIRIGERA hub and IKEA Home smart app for more features and functions.
This smart product can also be connected to a TRÅDFRI gateway.
Purifies the air in a space of up to 20 square metres, depending on which fan speed the air purifier is set to.
It will take longer time to purify the air if the room is larger than 20 square meters, but you can always use several air purifiers to cover a larger area.
The particle filter is optimised to filter away approximately 99.5 percent of smaller airborne particles such as PM2.5 particles, dust and pollen.
PM2.5 are small inhalable particles, that measure 0.1-2.5 micrometres.
The gas filter (sold separately) purifies the air from various gaseous pollutants such as formaldehyde, which can be found in things like cleaning/household products and various fabrics and materials.
The gas filter helps to reduce the odour of smoke, cooking odours and other unpleasant odours that may be present in the home.
You can set the air purifier to 5 different fan speeds and thereby adapt it to the needs of your home, or you can use it in auto mode.
You can hide the cable on the inside of the air purifier to avoid cable clutter.
If you want to use a voice assistant, you can connect to Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, or Google Home through integrations in the IKEA Home smart app.
Check the filter regularly to see if it’s dirty. An LED indicator illuminates when you need to check your filters and possibly replace them. The filter is recommended to be replaced within 6 months.
The particle filter is tested according to EN 1822-1 and ISO 29463-3 which corresponds to class EPA12.

Let cleaner air be a part of your décor
Air purifiers contribute to better air in peoples’ homes every day. So do air purifiers from IKEA, but by combining the technology with our home furnishing knowledge, they also blend in. We think technology should be simple, affordable and easy to place in your home.
All over the world, people are affected by bad air quality, and it’s not only connected to bad outdoor air, tells Henrik Telander, who has worked with STARKVIND and our other air quality products. “Many of the things we do at home, like cooking and tidying with cleaning products, can leave different particles and pollutants in the indoor air. Another problem can be pollen or other outdoor air pollutants that come in via our ventilation. All these can be absorbed and filtered with the help of an air purifier.”
Easy to use every day
Henrik and the team had high demands. The air purifiers had to be effective, energy-efficient and quiet – and have affordable filters that are easy to change. All aspects were weighed against each other and prototypes were tested over and over again. “We want people to be able to use an air purifier every day if they need to. That’s why we focused so much on the total cost of owning and using our air purifiers,” explains Henrik.
Tech that blends in
But it’s not enough that air purifiers are easy to use and that all technical specifications are in place – we think they should fit in the home as well. “Since IKEA is a home furnishing company, we have a unique opportunity to add the interior design aspect to our air purifiers. STARKVIND is easy to move around and designed to blend into the room.”
