IKEA Goyang donates fire extinguishers to traditional markets in Goyang

The donation ceremony was co-hosted by IKEA, the Goyang City and the Goyang Fire Station as a part of IKEA’s good neighbour activities for the new store opening in Goyang. At IKEA, the safety of customers and co-workers is a top priority throughout its store operation. With this donation, IKEA wants to support fire prevention at traditional markets in the local community of IKEA Goyang, and enable the merchants to act quickly in case of emergencies.
At the ceremony, IKEA Goyang donated more than 320 fire extinguishers to five traditional markets including the Ilsan, Neunggok and Wondang markets, which also include 120 ”speaking fire extinguishers” that were placed around the stores in order to ensure fire safety at the traditional markets.
IKEA Goyang Store Manager Cecilia Johansson said, ”We hope that this donation will contribute to improving the overall safety of the Goyang City, and also enhancing the ability of local residents and merchants to prepare and respond more effectively to fire emergency,” adding, ”IKEA Goyang will continue to make efforts to bringing a positive impact to our local community and become a good neighbour that creates a better everyday life for the many people.”
”It is most meaningful for us to have strengthened the safety culture at the traditional markets in Goyang, and raised public awareness on fire safety with IKEA Goyang,” said an official of the Goyang City, adding, ”We will continue our efforts to ensure the safety and security of visitors at the Goyang traditional markets.”
