[Seoul – August 8, 2017] Home furnishing company IKEA Korea announced the launch of the print and digital versions of the 2018 IKEA catalogue “Express yourself”, which introduces various inspiring, informative home furnishing ideas solutions for a richer and happier daily life in the living room.

The catalogue, which is one of the most significant icons of IKEA, has been published annually since 1951, and has continued to offer home furnishing inspirations to the people all over the world.

The 2018 IKEA catalogue focuses on the ‘living room’, which is the heart of everyday life at home. The living room is a multifunctional space where people connect with family and friends, relax, listen to music, exercise, or enjoy food and games. Through the 2018 IKEA catalogue, IKEA will not only offer ways to organize spaces for a happier life at home, but also provide various home furnishing ideas and solutions to help customers freely create their personalized living rooms.

In particular, this year’s edition includes a new feature, the ‘IKEA mini catalogue’, which showcases products catering to the needs of each market. New collections and special discount products are highlighted in the mini catalogue to for a better shopping experience for the customers.

IKEA also launches ‘New Lower Price’ products along with the launch of a new catalogue each year. Producing in high volumes with smarter designs and flat packaging, IKEA continues to make efforts to reach more customers with affordable products without having to compromise on quality. This year’s ‘New Lower Price’ articles comprise of approximately 190 products including STRANDMON wing chair (KRW 249,000), GURLI cushion cover (KRW 3,900), and KNIPPE hat and coat stand (KRW 29,900).

Marketing Manager of IKEA Korea Nicolas Johnsson said, “IKEA wishes to enable Korean customers to enjoy a better life at home by decorating and personalizing their homes regardless of the size of their wallet or living space,” adding, “With the release of the 2018 IKEA catalogue, we are excited to offer home furnishing solutions and ideas that transform the living room into original and functional spaces that fit into each individual’s lifestyle.”

This year’s digital catalogue also contains rich content with greater convenience. It provides films and information connected to the print version to help customers learn more about the stories and home furnishing solutions. Also, by utilizing AR (Augmented Reality) technology, customers can arrange and design their homes with IKEA products before purchase. The digital catalogue can be viewed through PCs, tablets, smartphones and Apple TV, and can be shared through social media.

A total of 203 million copies of 2018 IKEA catalogues will be printed with FSC™-certified paper for world-wide circulation. It will available in 35 languages in 52 countries, including South Korea. The digital catalogue will be available in Korea on the IKEA website and the app store, starting August 29. Starting with the IKEA Gwangmyeong store area, a total of 1.87 million copies of the print catalogue will be distributed locally.

IKEA Korea will also host an event on the IKEA Facebook page and select 3,000 winners who will receive a print copy of the 2018 IKEA catalogue. The event will start on August 8 and winners will be notified individually.
