IKEA Gangdong will be surrounded by an excellent transportation infrastructure, such as Olympic Highway, Seoul Ring Expressway, Gangil IC, and Subway Line #5, providing great accessibility for the many people living in Gangdong-gu as well as in Seoul and eastern Gyeonggi Province. It is also expected to contribute to revitalising the local economy by creating new jobs and expanding the home furnishing market.
“We are very excited to make the IKEA home furnishing experience even more accessible and convenient with the opening of IKEA Gangdong, our first shopping complex in Seoul,” said Fredrik Johansson, Country Retail Manager at IKEA Korea. “As a people and planet positive company, we at IKEA Korea will continue our efforts towards becoming a good neighbour for the local community, reaching the many people with more affordable and convenient home furnishing products and solutions.”
